Travellers' Choice
When my family bought the Hopping Hare in 2006 our aim was to create an escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, somewhere just a bit different. A place to dine, stay or meet up and relax with friends, family or colleagues. We didn't want it to be stuffy, intimidating or over the top. We set about creating luxurious rooms, a subtle, sophisticated bar with a great selection of quality drinks and a restaurant offering some of the best food to be found in Northampton. As a family owned and operated business, we set the standards on service, value for money, atmosphere and personality. No detail has been overlooked in creating a hotel, restaurant and bar in Northampton with an individual blend of 21st-century chic, high standards and a laid back friendly feel that we are sure you'll begin to notice as soon as you step inside. We've got to know some of our guests well because they come back time after time. In fact, 2010 saw the completion of an extension to the hotel to meet increased demand for accommodation from a growing clientele. My team and I would love to welcome you to stay for brunch, lunch, dinner or just a drink. Once the Hopping Hare is on your radar we guarantee you'll be back. David George, General Manager

I have eaten lunch/dinner here, and on both occassions the waiting staff and chef were happy to ensure that I had good food that wouldn't make me ill. The breakfast was superb - on both mornings I had a cheese and mushroom omlette that was fluffy, and stuffed full of delicious mushrooms and cheese.

Generous size room, immaculately clean although could benefit from new curtains. Outstanding restaurant with great selection of quality dishes. Pork loin with Hispi cabbage was fantastic, as was the Lemon Tart desert. Good value. Location not the best.

I went with friends on a Saturday evening for a meal. The food and service was amazing! Best meal I have had in a long time. Best lemon tart I have ever had. Great atmosphere and staff were friendly. My friends were raving about their food too. Going to be my go to now for a nice meal locally.

We stayed here for one night. The room was large and the bed very comfortable breakfast was included in the price which was good as well. We had dinner in the pub restaurant and again the food was good. We went to a rugby game and it was about half an hours walk to the ground. There was plenty of parking. The whole stay was excellent value.

This is a nice place. On edge of Northampton - approx 3 miles out. Extended around original Manor House with some residential around - but quiet. Lovely atmosphere with organised friendly helpful staff. Very clean & pleasant decor. Rooms comfortable & good value (but mainly with stairs to first or second floor). Breakfast excellent & quality restaurant meals well worth the little bit extra cost. Pick this over chain lodge hotels every time! (Enough parking).

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Hopping Hare. It's a comfortable and cosy hotel in Duston, on the outskirts of Northampton (not far from Althorp). The staff were welcoming and friendly, the room was spotlessly clean, and the bathroom was equipped in a modern style. Breakfast is included in the price and there's a really good selection. I'd also highly recommend eating in the restaurant during your visit - on one evening I had the Althorp estate venison, and the second evening I had a beautifully tender rump steak - both utterly delicious and at reasonable prices.

Great pub dining, lovely building clean and well decorated. Food (we had the turkey xmas lunch) was really good, nice portions and nice tasting food. Expertly served, this place seem a cut above on table service. It left me wondering if the landlord (or somebody) was trained in silver service. We are looking forward to visiting the hopping hare again and again
