We stayed at the start of October for two nights for my boyfriend's birthday. We were in the Tub room right at the top of the house. The whole place was gorgeous, felt immaculately clean, and was really beautifully decorated. Breakfast in the morning was great, as were Phil's home-made cakes & museli bars. Would definitely stay again when visiting...

A very pleasant overnight stay in the Book Room, the smallest room at the top of the house. Everything at Ashley is as you would wish it to be: clean, cosy , attractive decor with homely touches. Phil is a welcoming, relaxed host. The breakfast menu is more extensive than usual and the complementary cakes (available all day) are a...

This guest house is amazing, Phil was so helpful and pleasant. We stayed in the Plum Room which was clean comfortable and bright, as well as tastefully decorated. The house itself is beautiful, the decor is tasteful and a little quirky. The breakfasts were great and I would say hard to beat and the homemade cakes are divine!! The situation...

We were two couples and we had the Book room which has its own toilet and shower and Tub room which has a tub in the room and a separate toilet on the landing for that rooms use only. The couple that had the Tub room used our shower over the weekend. The concept of the tub in the room...

We stayed here for two nights, and had zero complaints. Phil was very helpful -- he gave us great information about the city and allowed us to keep our bags at the B&B after we checked out to accommodate our late afternoon train. He also upgraded us to a larger room since we had booked at a time he wasn't...

Stayed for 3 nights in the Duck Room. Lovely decorated with clean very comfy bed and excellent en suite shower room. Extremely tasty breakfast choices which set you up for a days exploring. Very nice additional touch to come back to in the evening/afternoon of homemade biscuits, rocky road or brownies. Owner Phil and rest of the staff very helpful...

Another fantastic stay in York - this time at a really lovely place Ashley House. The owner Phil is so friendly and cannot do enough to make your stay really enjoyable - I am not the 1st and certainly will not be the last to mention his special extra touches such as his home made treats. Breakfast had a really...

Clean, comfortable, near town centre, great breakfast, very friendly owners what more do you need for a weekend in York ? We stayed in the Plum room only minus (noisy toilet when flushing but it doesn't last long) apart from that go stay and ask Phil to make some Rocky Road for your trips out.

Stayed here from 4th-6th september with my boyfriend. We stayed in the attic room, or the 'book room' which was small but extremely cozy and clean. The bed was so comfortable! Phil was so friendly and accomodating also and we loved the cookies and brownies he baked and left out complimentary for the guests. Breakfast was good, loved the wee...
