If you are looking for a relaxing, comfortable stay- THIS IS NOT IT!!! DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU WANT TO BE GUARANTEED A ROOM Let me start by saying we are reasonable people and never leave negative reviews- this place was just so bad, we felt we had to warn others. My in-laws, husband and I planned an extended...

Hi Shelly, I think you will find that our rating of 9/10 after over 800 reviews on booking.com is testament to our quality and service. Our car park is appreciated as it is free and the closest to the Historic City centre of York.

This quiet B&B is within a 3 minute walk of the York Minster. Mark helped me plan my weekend with such care. His wife Joyce made a wonderful breakfast that included blood oranges! The rooms are small but cozy. Our room had a kettle, teas and biscuits to enjoy. We met many people at breakfast who are return customers and...

Just returned from a 2 day break. This was our first time at Gillygate Guesthouse but we would like to return. The room was lovely and large with a small sofa (always a bonus for us). Mark and Joyce were very friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The car park is a bonus in York and once...

Gillygate Guest House is a short walk away from York Minster and the main shopping area. The owners are very helpful. Mark was very kind to us, offering us the opportunity to leave our car for a couple of extra hours the day we checked out. The attic room was spacious and we had everything we needed for an overnight...

Stayed for two nights in a superior room which was lovely with plenty of room. The bathroom was a bit on the small side but we managed. Car parking is available which was great. Lovely breakfast and Mark and Joyce (owners) are lovely and friendly. Will definitely stay again.

Stayed here for the night in the single room and overall was impressed for the price. The single bed was actually a small double so that was a bonus. Friendly check in, good breakfast and for £90 inc parking and breakfast was good value for money as York itself is very expensive.

very kind owner who helped us with every question. Our room was a little narrow, but very comfortable. The breakfast was very good and you can just walk to the city of York. We arrived a little bit early that day, but the owner helped us with a parking card for an public parking space. Thank's a lot for this.

Absolutely fantastic little guest house with very welcoming hosts. Me and my boyfriend have just got back from a weekend in York and it was amazing, we loved every second. It was a ten minute walk from the guest house to the town center with lots of lovely places to eat and stop of for a drink all around. I...

Stayed here for 3 nights in February 2017. The location is fantastic being just literally 2 minutes from the city walls and 5 minutes from the very centre of York, all on foot of course. The Minster is a 3 minute walk away so you couldn't get much better placement for exploring this wonderful city. The room was large and...
