We have just arrived home from a 2 night stay at the St Denys, and I can confirm that it really does deserve all the positive reviews. From my initial telephone booking, to the moment we checked out, the customer service we received from all members of staff was excellent. We stayed in room 6 and were pleased with the... More

Lovely hotel very conveniently located. Room was very clean and well appointed with lovely toiletries. Hosts very welcoming- nothing was too much trouble, coffee brewed in the evening whilst we sat in the Library and played scrabble Breakfast was very good with homemade marmalade and raspberry compote in addition to full English Would recommend and certainly stay again

I don't usually leave reviews of hotels... But on leaving St denys I felt I should tell others of the exceptional service and wonderful stay we had here. We booked the hotel as it was only a few minutes walk right into the centre, had free parking and free WiFi. When we got there, the staff offered to take our... More

Just returned from a very pleasant stay at The St Denys. Extremely friendly and professional staff greeted us and looked after us the whole stay. The room was nicely decorated with good furnishings as was the bathroom. Breakfasts were fantastic and a perfect start to the day. Blackpudding yum. One gripe was the un runny poached eggs but rapidly forgotten.... More

We stayed weekend 13th November and would definately reccommend this hotel for a short break. Staff exceptional service and in a wonderful position for all major attractions. Breakfast was super. They even reccommended a place to eat for our family celebration.

Unassuming from outside, the St Denys proved to be an absolute gem once through its front door. The staff are great, friendly and welcoming. Breakfast fabulous and rooms spot on. I can't rate it enough!

Had a wonderful stay at the St. Denys Hotel. From the warm welcome when we entered the door, to what was classed as a small room (large than rooms we have had elsewhere), which had everything we needed in it plus an excellent ensuite. It was lovely to have fresh milk to have with the drinks in our room, also... More

We stayed at this hotel on 8th and 9th November. It is a delightful small boutique hotel, with wonderful , helpful staff. It was a very positive experience, and we would recommend it to anyone who wants a small hotel, close to all the important areas of York, and within walking distance of some excellent restaurants.

The St Denys is a shade expensive for what is basically a glorified B&B. But I wouldn't call it over-priced, because the attention to detail displayed by the proprietors more than makes up for this. It's well located (ten minutes to the Minster), but far enough removed from the centre so you don't feel the city is on top of... More
