Popped in before our restaurant booking on a Saturday night. It's was a shock seeing it so empty as we've been in here several times before and have enjoyed the atmosphere. However it felt as if it was closing down . Glad we only had the quick pre meal drinks .

Libby + Dave having taken over the premises the week before we arrived made us feel most welcome without being intrusive. The downstairs public bar areas are in the process of being refurbished and we were seated in the "snug" for breakfast with tablecloths to make this transitional period a very pleasant experience. The full English breakfast was so generous...

Room was ok, but the noisiest ever as on a busy main road with traffic constant and rickety old windows which don't keep out the noise. car park to rear which was advantage . Breakfast was said to be between 8.30-9.15 , ok we said 8.45, sat...

Recently did a one night stay at the Bay Horse Inn. It's a decent budget guest house. The room I stayed in was spacious and comfortable and the staff member I dealt with was a really nice guy. The pub downstairs has seen better days, but is fine. The Bay Horse is very near York station (5 minutes on foot)....

Arrived to find chocolate and Proseco on the bed, nice touch. Room very comfortable, and a nice ensuite with roll top bath. Only problem was window overlooked the main street which is noisy, and Windows not double glazed. No Black Sheep beer but did have Hobgoblin on draught which was nice. Breakfast was ok too. Staff extremely friendly and helpful,...

Friendly staff, rooms were spotless and well equipped. Excellent Full English breakfast in the morning, and cracking value for money for a City Centre B&B. Also...
