We stayed for three nights and very very happy with this friendly B&B. The room was large and comfortable with every facility - we especially appreciated the fresh milk in the fridge outside the rooms for our early morning cuppa. The breakfasts were excellent - a cold buffet of fruit and cereal followed by the delicious cooked breakfasts. It's the...

This is one of the best b&b/small hotels we've stayed in. Very nice building outside and beautifully decorated inside. Are room was very well appointed and a good size, nice and warm and despite being at the front of building facing the road, quiet. The breakfast was great with a very good choice served in a very nice dining room....

Thank you for describing us as one of the best B&B's you have stayed in. It is good to know that we are getting it right. I am sorry you didn't enjoy the walk so much. Its just 1.5 miles to the centre of York. Stockton Lane is a lovely residential area with some fine houses, a river and have...

Love love love this place, we stayed in the room on the ground floor near the entrance which is a very generous size with on suite; tv and tea and coffee. The breakfast is superb as is the service overall great value for money and the owners are very welcoming. We got a taxi to York centre which isn't to...

We were greeted by Mark on our arrival and shown to our room where they had left a small bottle of bubbly to celebrate my birthday, nice personal touch. Next morning at breakfast Louise introduced herself before being served a fantastic breakfast. The personal touches by owners Mark & Louise make it a memorable stay, hence I have no hesitation...

When I booked, I mentioned that I would be driving a medium sized rental van and enquired about parking. Mark & Louise were more than accomodating and 'reserved' a large space in their off road car park to make sure I could leave the van in a safe place. Although on a main road, the size and layout of the...

Thank you for your positive review. We are lucky to have all good size rooms, good parking and the roads are local traffic so not a main through fare. I hope we will see you again soon. Louise

A wonderful weekend or so in York. I stayed with my two young boys and my Dad joined us for a night too. This is a really great bed and breakfast. It is clean, very comfortable and so friendly. The breakfasts were excellent and nothing was too much trouble. We have only very good things to say about Blakeney House,...

Spent 4 nights here in a 6 week tour of England/Wales. This B&B offered a comfortable upstairs room with adjoining ensuite. Sleep was excellent. Around the back on site parking was provided. B&B close enough to walk to York or you could also use the passing bus. Hosts Mark and Louise provided an outstanding breakfast full of choice which made...

We have just spent 4 nights at the Blakeney House and found it to be just as everyone says - welcoming, clean, convenient, good breakfasts, comfy beds, free safe parking, on bus route to York city centre. My only adverse comment would be that the internal en suite shower/loo in Room 12 is just about the minimum size possible.

Hi Angela Hi Angela Thank you for all your positive comments in your review. I am pleased you enjoyed your stay with us. The ensuite within the room you stayed is fairly small. But as an Edwardian House, unlike a purpose built Hotel, the en-suites were added at a later date to fit within the room layouts. All our rooms...

My brother and I spent a very pleasant and enjoyable stay at the Blakeney House in early September.
