The main positive is the location which is fantastic. It is right in the centre of Whitby with great views across the bay and is surrounded by cafes, shops and bars. The staff also seemed friendly. The down side for us was the room and breakfast. The attic family room was basic and the stairs leading up to it are...

Visited The Pier inn a few times with friends during our weekend break recently. Staff lovely and polite, dog friendly pub. Good selection of drinks with a wide selection of meals on offer. I would recommend

On a day out to Whitby our party of 6 called for lunch at the Pier. Standard pub lunch, Fish & chips, Burgers and 1 had lasagna. Reasonably priced and tasty. However, 2 of the meals came after the first 4 had arrived and the table was sticky even after they had wiped it. Ok for a lunch.

Popped in here for a drink on a Thursday night. On walking in the smell hit you really, kind of an end of a nightclub sweaty night smell so decided to sit outside. Barman was very abrupt and a couldn't be bothered attitude radiated from him. Went to the toilet and there was no toilet roll and the toilet checks...

This is the 2nd time we had been here. The staff are friendly and the pub serve a great breakfast (great service from the wingman!). They have live music at weekends which has been great on both times. The room was ok, but a bit of portakabin feel in the bathroom and the window in the bedroom wouldn't stay open....

The Pier is a lovely little place for a drink and a bite to eat. Didn't stay in a room. It not only welcomes dogs but, encourages them with a selection of water bowls available. Food was lovely and atmosphere great.

The room was small but comfortable, looking out over the harbour and towards the abbey. We were only there a couple of nights but it was a pleasant stay. Breakfast was served in the pub, a very good breakfast with friendly and helpful staff.

Was happy to find that the pier was dog friendly and had a good choice on the menu. Staff were very friendly. (Chap with glasses and drum tattoo) food was a bit of a let down however. Took an age to arrive, portions a bit stingy. (Not enough chips!) and not quite hot enough.

Was attending a soul weekender in Whitby and the DJ said he was doing Saturday afternoon in this pub so tried it out. Went with friends who thought it was good too. Busyish pub. Had a nice pint. No room to sit down. Excellent music played but don't know if that was a one-off or not

Stayed here for one night in September with the wife. Nice smart room on the 1st floor. Welcoming traditional pub right on the harbour. The only problem we found here was parking the car. Although it was Whitby folk festival. Would definitely stay here again.
