Stayed for three nights in October on the run up to halloween and goth weekend. Was very pleased with our room in the lodge (room 26) the room was extremely clean with a very nice modern bathroom (no bath) the shower was fabulous, powerful and plenty of hot water, towels changed daily, the bedroom was nice too, comfy beds and...

Thank you for the review and the great comments. The miserable waitress didn’t suit Bagdale and has now moved on, we do apologise for this. Hope to see you again soon.

We stayed for two nights in early September and it was a very lovely experience. The hotel is centrally located and within walking distance to places we wanted to go. We stayed in room 2, and I must say that it has been recommended by other reviewers for a good reason! It was large and comfortable and I simply loved...

Room 2 the most liked room at Bagdale Hall. Lovely to hear you enjoyed your stay and the character of the building lived up to its expectations. Not long till our 500 year anniversary, hope to see you soon.

Bagdale is very centrally located. Close to the town and attractions. We didn't eat here other than breakfast (which was very good). Rooms in the Lodge are very small and probably not worth the £110 rate for B&B. The bar is limited in selection and could do with work and attention. Next time we would like to experience the Old...

Thank you for you review. Bagdale Lodge is a bargain at that price and our bar maybe small but I’m not sure what work and attention is needed, we are a building from 1516 and we have to keep everything within character. Good review and hope you return soon.

From the early planning stage, until the end of our celebration, nothing was too much trouble. Alison, Mike and all of the staff made use feel very welcome and the service was excellent. Highly recommended.

We stayed on Friday10th October, as part of a group of 5 couples. We opted to stay in the main hotel as we thought the four poster room sounded romantic. At £160 we were expecting quality, unfortunately this wasn't the case. We arrived at 4.30 pm to a lukewarm welcome, we were shown to room 6, Not to the standard...

Not a review we like to read but everyone has their opinions. Disappointed the room was not to your standard but the bed is king size, furniture all ok but I will agree we need a new chair in there. Bar closes as we do not have a night porter just overnight staff in case of emergencies. We will take...

Stumbled across this hotel with a work colleague. We had not booked in advance but managed to get 2 rooms in the lodge. Rooms were very clean and warm with good bathroom and powerful shower. Car park was full but hotel found secure parking for us. Excellent full English breakfast. Would liked to have had dinner there but there was...

This was not our first trip to Bagdale Hall, but it is our first for almost ten years. We were in Room 2 in the main hotel building for our weekend romantic get away. That weekend bit is probably key. The two first floor rooms at Bagdale (rooms 1 and 2) are fabulous. Pricey, but fabulous. You could hold your...

Good and bad points but I do think the sleepless night was just a one off as we never get complaints from outside noise. As for the restaurant I can only apologise but chef isn’t no spring chicken. Hope to see you again soon and hopefully we can hange you views.

Arrived with no booking yet Michaela was very helpful and sorted us a room in the Lodge. Good sized room with a lovely bathroom and very powerful shower. Breakfast was very nice and the service was great. A lovely hotel with brilliant and helpful staff and all at a reasonable price. The location is great for walking into Whitby and...

The hotel and restaurant are very good the service was good but all this is let down by poor food this would be top of our tree for restaurants in Whitby as the restaurant is well set out and has some excellent period areas, If they could get the food right then this place would be a gold mine.
