The postmistress recommended we give the Inn on the Moor a try for dinner, so we did and well worth it was too. I had the Whitby Scampi £10.25 and my wife Jenny had the Home Made Pork, Chicken and Leek pie £9.95. The Scampi was delicious, with home made Tartare sauce and proper hand cut chips, my wife was...

Stayed at one of the attached cottages??? Cottage... family size semi-detached. Lovely, cosy and welcoming. All modern conveniences, directly opposite 'The Aidenfield Arms' (which everyone makes a bee-line for, don't know why?). Car parking, good food, good ale.

We stayed at this hotel for 1 night on the 29th may (bank holiday weekend)the room we had was room 7 with a four poster bed which was very comfortable and the room itself was very clean, although the TV was very small but you don't go away to watch TV so it wasn't a problem. The breakfast was very nice...

Stopped here for a casual lunch on our way back from the North Yorkshire Dales. The bar at the Inn is very relaxed and dog friendly. Gentleman behind the bar was friendly and lunch from the bar menu was very good (Leek and mushroom soup for my wife and a mozzarella, tomato and basil panini with nicely done chunky chips...

Having read mixed reviews of this hotel was pleasantly surprised by this old fashioned and dated hotel. Our son had booked us in for a Mothers Day Sunday lunch, we sat on leather sofas in front of a log fire having a drink whilst ordering our food and the service was very quick and efficient. The food was a good...

Goathland is placed on a picturesque spot on the moors--it's a stop on the moors railway. The people who run the Inn on the Moor were very nice and the breakfast was good. They were happy to accept my dog and we enjoyed a pint by the fire sitting on the sofas in the lounge. Not luxury, but you can't...

My husband and I visited this out of date establishment one evening for a meal. The place to be fair is very dated and run down, possibly not even particularly clean...however, the staff were friendly and helpful but above all the food was actually fresh, hot, home made and was very tasty..this was a huge surprise to us..but I've got...

Have stayed in this hotel a couple of times now. On latest visit it was a pity to see only one room was book for the night. We went to another location in the villiage for food and drink that night. Then found that at 8pm the hotel was locked up and in darkness. Lucky for us we had been...
