The service when we arrived was very good. Our room was not ready as we did arrive early, we were directed to the lounge and served tea The room was up 3 flights of stairs. It was very comfortable and light, before dinner we had complimentary sherry in the lounge. Evening dinner was very enjoyable, exceptional value.Breakfast was just as good....

We arrived last Sunday with our two labradors, having checked it was dog friendly . The dog room is a charming 4 roomed bungalow in the grounds meaning we never had to take our pets into the hotel. We were straight out into the gardens which are beautiful . We enjoyed a double bedroom , modern well lit bathroom ,...

Great service from all members of staff absolutely amazed that no afternoon tea/coffee with buns cakes or sandwiches available Sundays, great evening meal and breakfast , it will greatly enhance the place once the rooms have been refurbished,Very handy for our visit to the Sandsend/Whitby area.

We took advantage of the fantastic bed breakfast and evening meal offer of £89, what an absolute bargain, we stayed Easter Monday to Tuesday and had a fabulous room at the top of the house with great views of the countryside, the room was huge, beautifully furnished with period furniture and a good ensuite bathroom with piping hot water. The...

On arrival at the hotel we couldn't get in the reception door despite ringing the doorbell (expected after reading previous reviews) Once we were inside and out of the rain, the receptionist asked if we wanted to dine that night, however I felt she rushed us and we didn't have any privacy to discuss what we wanted to do so...

Nice place;nice food;great location for visiting surrounding areas. Cosy little bar to relax in. Peace and quiet . You do need a car if staying here to get out and about. Only slight thing to improve on is the reception area; always seemed busy and not chilled when you get there.
