This is a quirky old building in the dead centre of town, the room was immaculate and the cooked breakfasts were superb with a different 'special' every day. We have just returned from a 3 night stay and can't rate the Belfry highly enough. Forget your usual seaside B&B chintz, this is smart, sophisticated accommodation with a touch of class. The attention to detail is superb. Breakfast is delicious with a daily special too. Sophie and Phill are charming hosts, making you feel welcome and relaxed Excellent value...

This is a lovely B&B with lovely hosts who have a very cute baby!!! Our room was comfortable and spacious and nicely decorated and furnished. Breakfast was yummy and very good quality, lots of choice and each day a special dish on offer which is a very nice touch.The Belfry is in a good location for exploring Whitby on foot....

Stayed here for 2 nights work my husband. Phill and Sophie are fantastic hosts, Incredibly welcoming and full of great suggestions for the local area. We had one of the attic suites and couldn't have asked for a better room - free standing bath with a view of the sea, really comfortable bed and lots of space to relax in....

We have stayed at The Belfry several times and last weekend was as perfect as usual with a very warm welcome from Phil and Sophie. We also had the delight of meeting the new addition to the family, the cutest baby ever! The food was delicious and we were warm and cosy in Room 7. It has a good view...

Such a fantastic B&B! The rooms are comfortable and clean with lovely modern décor. Sophie & Phill are excellent hosts and look after their guests amazingly well. The breakfasts are home cooked and very very tasty. We would definitely recommend this Bed and Breakfast to family and friends. Thanks so much for our great stay.

We stayed for 2 nights at the belfry, extremely welcoming people, the rooms were amazing, very modern and clean. Breakfast was delicious and they had an different alternative from the full English each morning, we will definitely be back.

Our stay in Whitby was amazing with thus lovely family who run the Belfry. Phil and Sophie. Sophie is a great cook. Cooked a lovely Mexican breakfast for me and pancakes fir my daughter in addition to the normal well - cooked English breakfast which was also a delightful option. They go out of their way to make your stay...

Sophie & Phil, run a superb ,contemporary ,Hotel .warm friendly accomodation 1st class welcome nothings too much trouble..phils a minefield of info from walks to restaurants to eat in Whitby and surrounding area. Beautifully decorated..Modern clean sharp interior...comfy beds...Shower amazing... Top drawer fittings throughout rooms...Breakfast so tasty we had full English...but daily specials on every day incl pancakes...salmon and scrambled...

What a delightful hotel. We selected this hotel off the Internet from the hundreds that are posted and where not disappointed. We were greeted by Phil, the owner, who made us feel welcome and special. The room and it's facilities were excellent, including a little bottle of milk for our morning tea. Our eight spacious guestroom's have either stunning views of St Hilda's church or Panoramic sea views. Each room has their own luxury en-suite, well stocked hospitality tray, LCD flat screen televisions & big comfortable beds. After a well-rested night's sleep, wake up to a hearty full English breakfast along with a wide choice of cereals, fruits and yogurts (vegetarian options/dietary requirements are also available on request). The Belfry is also equipped with a top of the range CCTV and fire alarm system. Wi-Fi is also available throughout the guesthouse.PARKINGThe West Cliff car park is located directly behind The Belfry, pay and display on street parking is available as is the Whitby Park and Ride scheme- located at the A171/B1460 junction (Across from Cross Butts Stable restaurant). The service will stop at West Cliff (where we are located), North Terrace, St Hilda's Terrace and the bus station before returning via North Terrace, West Cliff to the park and ride site. ... more   less
