A great little tea room, nice atmosphere, lovely selection of cakes, reasonably priced and staff very polite. Would definitely recommend. A great place to call before or after climbing the 199 steps. Also has rooms to let if wishing to stop overnight or for the weekend.

This little cafe is a gem, situated at the foot of the steps up to Whitby Abbey. The service was great and the range of cakes superb. I had the scone with jam and cream but there were soooo many options

The six of us called in today after visiting the Abbey in the howling wind and rain . As per my heading we were made very welcome indeed. Our order was assorted sandwiches , toasties and drinks , all were spot on and came with salad and a smile ☺ It's the perfect place after a windswept visit to the...

This is a great coffee shop run by the loveliest ladies. My son had an accident at the bottom of the steps outside the cafe. The owners rushed us in, plied us with coffee, called an ambulance and kept our spirits up. Our little boy is fine and we will definitely be back for some more fantastic coffee served by...

Only popped in for a toasted teacake and a cuppa each but was made to feel at home. Clean, tidy and very friendly staff. Definitely recommend a visit to this quaint little coffee shop. Will no doubt be visiting again.

My husband and mother were enjoying a short break in Whitby. We called in for lunch after tackling the steps. Small but ideally situated at the foot of the steps. Lovely welcome and retro music and enjoyed soup made from fresh veg grown in the allotment next to Abbey.

We were recommended to stay at the Abbey steps by the owner of our usual place because they were fully booked up. However our stay here was excellent the view out of our bedroom window looked out onto the Abbey steps and across the harbour entrance, it was fantastic. the breakfast was served in the cafe down stairs, good old...

We went to the tearooms for a drink out of season - the lady owner served us. She made no effort to talk to us or be friendly in anyway. We were the only customers in the cafe and we were made to feel like a nuisance to be honest. She even tutted at the fact we had a pram...
