A lovely, friendly bed and breakfast for a stay in Whitby. Hosts Liz and Ron could not have been friendlier or more accommodating. It was a joy to be able to bring our 2 dogs and be made so welcome. A few minutes walk from the beach or the town centre. Oh, and great breakfasts and vegetarians catered for.

Excellent weekend stay at the Blencathra. The hospitality shown by Liz & Ron was second to none and I would recommend this guest house to anyone. We arrived to find our orginial B&B was booked for the wrong date and had no vacancies (my mistake) so the landlord kindly ran a few doors down to the Blencathra Guest House and we were in luck. We spent one night in room 7, the family room at the top of the building. My first observation is how reassuring...

Fantastic visit, unfortunately we only had the luxury of staying for one night but the proprietor could not do enough for us. Great breakfast and very pleased to see that this is a guest house that caters for all the family (as many out there do not take this into consideration). Would most definitely recommend to others and would urge...
