Having been told by a friend that this was a lovely hotel; my partner and I were very much looking forward to a night away in the 'superior' room we had booked. I'm certainly not the kind of person who would look to complain or write a negative review but I do feel that the following will be of use...

I recently had an overnight stay prior to completing the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge. The room I stayed in was excellent with tea/coffee making facilities with a wide range of tea and coffee. The bed was extremely comfortable and excellent bathroom with a powerful shower. They couldn't do enough for me and whilst I was technically too late to eat...

I met up with a friend at the Lion recently for Sunday lunch, I can only say it disgusting. The potatoes could not be cut, the 'roast'???? Vegetables were unidentifiable, the Yorkshire pudding was cold, the gravy had obviously been microwaved as I burnt my hand on the white jug, the meat looked and tasted as though it had been...

Just visited the lion for Sunday lunch with friends. To say the food was terrible is using a kind word. It was was almost inedible and we complained to the waiter, who dismissed our complaints and said he was. Sorry we were did not enjoy the meal. Most of the food was left on our plates, and on requesting the...

We ( group of 4 walkers doing the Ribble Way) had a very comfortable overnight stay here. It was the most expensive of our overnight stays, but well worth the bit extra. The entrance hall and bar/ restaurant area are attractively furnished and decorated, providing a very welcoming atmosphere. In front of the fire was a very comfy spot of...

My husband and I stayed at The Lion along with our friends. We were very satisfied with the cleanliness of our room and the hotel in general, beds were very comfortable. Breakfasts were very good although on out second morning we knew it was a different cook as that breakfast was not quite the standard of the previous morning. We...

Stayed for a long weekend. The hotel rooms are well equipped and quite comfortable if a bit small. The staff were great and couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful but a bit relaxed. The bar/restaurant is quirky but friendly and quite cosy. The breakfast was good, except the eggs benedict which was reported to be like wallpaper past, but...

Met friends for lunch ,we found the reviews on trip advisor so thought we would try it. The Dining room was very empty for a Sunday lunchtime. The staff were very attentive, however when quizzed on what vegetable came with the roast our server had no idea. We were told we could have any meat but then we were told...

Within a stone throw of the centre of Settle a quaint old English town. It is a pub / restaurant / hotel all in one so you have all you would want at hand. This is the 2nd stay over the last couple of years and personally feel it has actually improved since a year ago.
