Just returned from our second family get-together. 18 of us including 4 children. The complex can take more. The main cottage has a huge dining table which can easily seat 10. We all managed to sit down with some reorganisation. All cottages are beautifully appointed and contain everything you might want. Many rooms are en-suite and there is no shortage...

Great farm cottage. Clean and includes everything we could want. Like a home from home, Rosemary left us a lovely welcome pack and came to welcome us after our arrival. Beautiful area, ideally situated for Forest of Bowland, Dales & lake district, also only an hour from Morecambe.

Stayed in Marshfield Cottage which was very well equipped and clean. The Welcome pack plus tea, coffee and milk very welcome after a 7 hour journey up congested M6! Lovely setting and peaceful. Wasn't keen on one of the 'bedrooms' being basically a platform over loving area which was curtained off. Didn't personally book cottage so was unaware until we...

Great cottages, clean, well put together in a picturesque area. Rosemary looks after you and you can order fresh eggs and the sorts. Real friendly, good prices and perfect for families or couples. Thoroughly recommended.

What a find! We needed a cottage for 6 of us, ourselves plus our adult children and their respective partners. We had a wonderful time staying in Marshfield Cottage. It was sufficiently kitted out so we could cook a roast dinner - it had everything just like a home would have. We wished we could have stayed longer than just...

We are now regular visitors to the Layhead cottages, having first been there about ten years ago when we stayed at Stables. Since then we have been back in Stables with friends, also in Crabapple, Cobblestones and for us, our favourite, Garden Cottage. The properties are attractive, well furnished, always fresh and clean on our arrival, warm and very comfortable,...

We stayed in the Farmhouse, which was perfect for the two couples on the trip with two double en suite bedrooms. We had two other bedrooms one lovely twin on the ground floor again with an en suite, and a second on the first floor with a bathroom directly opposite, with a lovely big bath. The cottage is part of a group of farm...

We (family with 2 boys) have stayed for 5 nights in Craggs Barn in August and absolutely loved it. It has all we need in terms of cooking / laundry and playground. Apart from the DVD / VCDs, the farm also has a small indoor playroom with table-tennis / table-footie for the rainy days. The area is a good base...

After searching a long time for somewhere affordable that could accommodate a large family, I came across this location through Farmstay and was not disappointed. We stayed at the cottages over a long weekend. The facilities are excellent, with everything you can think of provided (Wi-Fi, games, magazines, all kitchen utensils and things like soap in the bathroom (which isn't...

This is our 4th visit to Layhead after staying there for our niece's wedding. Ideally situated for all of the Yorkshire Dales, only an hour from the Lake district and Blackpool (although personally suggest you go to Lytham St Annes as Blackpool rather scraggy). Rosemary makes you very welcome to her spotless and comfortable cottages. The Stables this time round,...
