Booked for three nights, 30th July to 2nd August 2021. We arrived early to book in at 12.30pm only to find out that it is only a pub for drinks. No rooms or food. We were dissapointed as we had travelled from the Lakes before going back to Yorkshire.
We travelled last minute to Middlesborough to visit the wives family in MIddlesborough and chose the Cambridge hotel due to its reasonable price and lovation to where we needed to be. The hotel is about a 10 minute journey in a taxi from the station (which cost £3). We arrived to check in at about 5pm and were met by friendly bar and reception staff on arrival who assisted us with check in. The room was compact but spotlessly clean. The bed was super comfortable to sleep in. Complimentary towels, toiletries etc were all provided. The bathroom had combined bath/shower and again was spotlessly clean and really good size. There is no telly but you do get free wifi that worked perfectly in the room on my Ipad. the hotel only has 11 rooms and I think we were the only people staying the first night. It is set above an old traditional english pub that serves hot food and very cheap drinks! (£2.30) for a pint of lager! The Barmaid was lovely and firendly and infirmed us she would be staying on sight and to shout if we needed anything. She asked what time we wouldl ike breakfast and showed us where to go when we came down in the morning. The only thing I would point out is that as this is a pub/hotel on the Friday night it was quite lively in the bar with people not leaving till abotu 12ish midnight. This was no problem for us as we were out late and still up but just be mindful if booking that there will be some noise till that time of night. A nice cheap option not to far from the town centre with very friendly locals and staff. We were very well looked after during our stay.…
Old fashion pub with sleepover rooms to rent. Clean and a smell of old times. And a local pub down stairs with all the local ingredients that should be there. I loved it. Very helpfull hostess, trying to make my stay as pleansant as possible. Pool tables a good bar, local beer and a nice inviroment.
Chris and his staff go out of there way to make sure your welcome and look after you. Food was great and beds comfy. Don't go on Booking.com as they say the place has no availability. Contact the hotel direct. Will be back soon.
We attended a function here (family Christening) and found it to be an average place, clean including the toilets. Large car park and easy to get to, just off the A19. Only a couple of negatives, it was a hot day with nowhere to sit outside yet there was ample space outside the room. The other negative was there was no Prosecco or diet drinks.
