Poorly maintained and violates fire safety regulations: 1. No smoke alarm inside the apartment 2. Smoke alarms (two) missing In the corridor just outside the apartment. The base plates were there but the detectors were absent. 3. Several lightbulbs missing from sockets 4. Inadequate heating. I had to ask for a portable electric heater. 5. Poor Internet connection and speed 6. Poor staff support: unavailable during out of office hours. They provided a mobile number for this, but no one answered despite numerous calls Would not return or recommend!

I booked a 2 bedroom apartment for 2 adults and 2 children for a 2 night stay for a family party nearby. We received our door codes a week beforehand and it all looked great. After a 5 hour journey we turned up to find a double bed and 1 bed! The communal stairs had seen better days. The apartment on the whole was spacious and clean but not cared for. Marks all over the walls, tiles missing from kitchen floor, broken sofa bed, a tv which took ages to work and a dodgy shower screen in the en suite. We had different family members staying in 2 other apartments, their rooms were the same. The whole building felt it was used for workers who just wanted to sleep and grab something to eat. The guy on site was VERY helpful but he looked so tired. The location is great but the whole building needs some love and attention and it would be very desirable. Such a shame as it has so much potential.

I have stayed in a few boro cheap places and this isn’t too bad. You get an email with the door codes so there is no reception you just get in which is very quick and efficient. You get a bed. Good wifi and a kettle with coffee making stuff. You get your own bathroom which many £45 per night don’t give you. Right in town too and you get parking. Remember its not bad for £45.

Stayed for a week. On arrival in the apartment it looked nice.. Until we looked closer.. omg.. Never again dirty pillows we went out and bought our own, lights hanging down with exposed wires in the bathroom, staples sticking up from the bed base, sockets with 'live' written on them, only half the lights working, no virgin TV or WiFi as advertised, sofa bed bust had to prop it up against the wall, the walls were minging, bath taps were loose, mould.. Everywhere in the shower room and bathroom, the wardrobes are ready to fall to pieces very unsafe, curtains have never been changed in years, light switche in one room was in the wardrobe, shower door hanging off, exposed sockets, all the dishes were dirty. Druggies sleeping in the bin shed and going through the bins offering residents knock off deodorant. The maintenence guy Barry has only been working there a few weeks and went out his way to help us in any way he could most days the poor bloke was still there at midnight trying to keep the place running if it wasn't for him the place would fall apart. Look elsewhere for a place to stay a place that's clean and fit to stay in.

Stayed for 2 nights for work. The general condition of the apartment was OK. Main problem was the overpowering smell of cigarette smoke coming from apartment 1a next door. It was so bad it put me off eating in the apartment. Another issue was that there was only a hand towel provided. Too small after a shower.

This place is great...if you love the smell of smoke, listening to chavs argue through the paper thin walls, and enjoy waking up at 2:00am to the sound of techno music. I also doubted everything about the cleanliness of this place. Will never, ever return. Oh, and we had no WiFi.

Well where do I start. £80 a night. This is a copy of the text I sent when we got to the apartments. There is more to add. We were in flat 6. Qas. Can you forward this to the housekeeper. Not heard from him yet. Apt smelled of smoke. Need air freshener at minimum. Ants climbing up counter in kitchen. Ant spray needed. Bed has been slept in. Need fresh double bed linen. There's a filthy t towel so need clean t towels. There's no frying pan and apart from two huge crock pots there are no other pans or oven dishes in the apartment. (I've brought an oven dish. Just as well ). In addition there was a food bowl full of empty cig butts, an empty bottle of vodka, a half drunk bottle of vodka, a half drunk bottle of coke and two half drunk glasses of red wine. Looks like someone's had a good night. Dossed down and got up and left. Also a ladies gold bangle on the floor. It was disgusting arriving to this and although the apt seems quite well equipped it's left us with a bad feeling. It really smells of smoke. As you've gathered I'm not happy and I'm still waiting for a call ! The housekeeper did come and brought and changed the bed and gave me a new t towel. The cream settee was so dirty that I couldn’t bring myself to sit on it and we brought garden chairs in we had in the car and sat in them. The blind in the bathroom wouldn’t rise and so we couldn’t get any light in there. The whole flat needs polyfilla in places and a paint and decorate. There was under floor heating which didn’t work and the apartment, which was huge was ‘heated’ by three small plug in heaters which didn’t heat the flat up. It was two degrees outside. The bathrooms were spotless and to a high standard, which was a pleasant surprise given the rest of the flat. Apart from the ants in the kitchen, it was actually very clean and there was a fridge freezer, a dishwasher and a washing machine. On the flip side there were insufficient pans, cookware utensils etc to even think about cooking a meal. Thankfully I’d brought an oven dish and was able to do a family meal, I’d brought with me. We couldn’t cook in the apartment and ended up eating breakfasts out and going to a family member to cook in the evening. My children were terrified both nights as they were really worried that whoever had been in the apartment would come back. A dreadful experience and apart from an apology and clean bedding we weren’t even offered any recompense. I would never go back.

This time we stayed in Apartment 2, this is set to the rear of the main property (a former Church and nicknamed locally a the Temple). It comes with it's own private entrance via a metal gate and has double metal gates giving access to a private car park (one car). The apartment is set on 4 floors, a bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor, the kitchen/dining room in the basement, the Master Bedroom with en-suite bathroom on the 2nd floor and a lounge on the 3rd floor. There is a front door leading to a small hallway then another door into the actual apartment. The bedroom on the ground floor is a good size and contains a double bed and a single bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers with bedside tables. next to that but not with direct access from the bedroom is a bathroom which incorporates a loo, basin, bath with overhead shower. Down a half dozen or so stairs you find the well equipped kitchen incorporating a double oven, Dishwasher, Washer/Dryer, half and half Fridge Freezer, 4 burner ceramic hob and 1.5 bowl sink, there is also a decent Microwave, the kitchen is running low on cutlery, cooking utensils and plates, mugs etc considering the number of people the apartment can accommodate. There is a full size 6 seat table and chairs in the Kitchen/Dining room. Onto the second floor and there is the Master Bedroom with en-suite bathroom, a double bed and again a single bed in here with ample storage space for clothes, suitcases etc, the bathroom incorporates a loo, basin and shower with ample storage for toiletries. The Lounge is large, 2 by 3 seat leather settees, occasional table, Large table/work desk with 2 chair rocking leather armchair, TV, wifi hub and another single bed with wardrobe. The TV needs replacing as the colour has gone and most programmes were all in green. The apartment as always is very clean and very suitable for families but certainly not wheelchair accessible and I wouldn't recommend it for those with walking difficulties there are an awful lot of stairs but we liked it. Basics are in the kitchen when you arrive a little washing up liquid, sugar/milk coffee sachets, a couple of cleaning cloths etc, the apartment also had a dustpan and brush, main sweeping brush, mop and bucket, Iron n Board and more. We first stayed at these apartments early on when they came available for rent and there is no doubt that some guests have mistreated them, there is snagging work to do but in relation to value for money they are still very good. The location is excellent, walking distance of the City Centre and surrounded by a multitude of restaurants and take-aways catering for most palletes, (Indian, Chinese, Italian and British). There is a small park at the side of the property and a large park incorporating the Dorman Museum and war memorial across the road, within 5 minutes walk there are all the other shops you need, greengrocers, mini-markets, chemists, laundrette, tobacconist, Co-oP and more.

We stayed in the Penthouse. Amazing HUGE apartment with more space, areas, beds, bedrooms etc than we ever imagined. Great for a larger party like us (9 of us). It was clean with plenty of facilities, great kitchen with lots of amenities, including all the usual kitchen items plus extras like washer, dishwasher, pots/pans, tea towel, washing up items etc. The two bathrooms were nicely decorated and very helpful for our larger group and a bath towel each was provided. Comfy beds, great TV and choice of channels, easy keyless self check in (door codes only) and a perfect location for our event at Teesside Autodrome. We don't have any real negatives about this place since we loved it and would definitely return, the only thing we would note is that it appears that very little is done by way of maintenance. It feels like a lot of effort was initially put into it to make it very modern (which it still is) and functional but then nothing much has been done to upkeep that. Trivial things like some bulbs out in most rooms, toilet roll holders pulled off the wall, paint missing in places. All something and nothing which didn't affect our stay, but could be sorted so easily! Overall, we had a fabulous time with great friends and it was perfect for what we needed. Great stay!
