Well appointed newish Hotel with a large reception- you get a friendly, efficient and quick welcoming booking in experience. The bar and restaurant are on the first floor . The rooms are well appointed and quiet with a decent sized, clean bathroom. Parking is available at an open payable park across the road
Struggled to get car out of disabled bay due to some idiot thinking they could park across disabled bay ans abandon their car and dam to everyone else. Get breakfast cook ( chef?) to keep eye on food drying out and toughening up to inedible standard . Restaurant manager needs spoken to
Stayed here for two weeks with a group of colleagues. Staff were very friendly, helpful and attentive. Housekeeping staff member Christine (Chris) was great. Breakfast staff (Julie, Stephen, Orla and Keira) were equally excellent. Front-of-house & Duty managers (Karen, Sam, Matthew, Fraser, Chloe) were always ready to assist and provide solutions. Thank you to all of you and those whose names I didn’t get. You’re a credit to the hotel and its group.
Nice room. Perfect position, close to the city centre of Middlesbrough. Staff was nice. Breakfast was delicious, good service and very welcome staff. The room was big, enjoyed my holiday with my baby.
Was not impressed room had not been cleaned / dusted for such a while you could see the dust on the kettle and tray as well as side table. I must it was not acceptable even for a 3 star hotel. Food as so dry you could not even cut into the roasted chicken it was more like dried smoked chicken. The morning staff in the restaurant were really lovely and professional and they were organised.
We chose this hotel as we’ve stayed pre pandemic and knew of its proximity to the city centre for shopping and we also wanted leisure facilities. Hotel staff are excellent but like many places in hospitality are struggling to get enough staff.. The hotel had changed inasmuch as it wasn’t as clean, room services are only carried out on request, which we only found out about the night before our check out. Breakfast is self service, and as always excellent, great choice and plenty of it. Leisure facilities and lifts were grubby but we didn’t spend a lot of time in the hotel. We did not use the restaurant in the evening, preferring to eat at Elianos and Christie’s- both close to the hotel and very good.
I arrive Saturday evening for 3 nights with my wife and young family after a long trip. The sofa bed in our executive room was not made up. The manager dumped some bedding in our room for us to make it up, and told us he had no staff due to illness. We all decided to go down to the restaurant for some food and drink at around 20.45. When we got there the same manager said he has to shut the bar and restaurant because he has no staff. I then requested some room service so we could at least get some food but he also said that was unavailable due to no staff. When we went back up to our rooms they were very hot so we had to open the windows due to no air con. This men’t we had to listen to load music, screaming and shouting until around 3.am. If I had not paid up front for 2 rooms for 3 nights I would of booked out the following morning…
Lovely welcome from Reception staff, easy on site parking, only £5. Smart reception area and bar/restaurant. Room was comfortable with fab bed and bedding. Good location near to town centre. Would stay again and no complaints.
Great value. Spacious room. Clean and tidy. Breakfast has to be the best I’ve had in a hotel so much choice. Bit rowdy on the first night but this is not the hotels fault and something they cannot control. People were complaining but to be honest if you want a quiet relaxing hotel on a weekend, don’t book a city centre hotel!
The main areas of the hotel including reception, spa, gym and bar ,are well kept and modern. The bedrooms need some attention ,especially the windows as there was a draft. The breakfast was good and staff at breakfast and in the bar were very friendly and showed a genuine interest in their customers. The description of the rooms being accessible for people who on occasion use a wheelchair is accurate . We had one twin room and one accessible room . The accessible room had a shower with a chair for access. However the shower itself would have been better as a power shower. There was only a small bin which for people with access needs is insufficient. The room was quite cramped as we needed to use the wheelchair as a seat. The twin room was better and more spacious. We did not find time to use the spa or gym but it was pleasing to know that these facilities are included in the price. …
