West Cote is a bit of a hike off the Coast to Coast but well worth it. Stuart and Judy are great hosts and will pick you up at Blakey Ridge -- just call from Wainstones where you'll get wifi reception. Dine at the Buck Inn and then don't miss Judy's alternative breakfast of English cheeses. So refreshing after full...

Excellent friendly service. Great to be picked up at Clay Bank Top. Lovely location with decking area to sit out after a hard day's walking. Very tasty breakfast with an amazing array of homemade jams.

Our host picked us up at the end of a hard wet day on the C2C. Our room was just fine and even hard hot chocolate. We got a ride to and from the local pub for dinner which actually was very good. Breakfast could not have been better in fact the best on the C2C. My husband had a...

Stayed here for one night while walking the Cleveland Way. Although the room was small, it was fully equipped with all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. Since this establishment is a few miles away from the Cleveland Way, the owner fetched us from the trail itself and brought us back to the same point the following morning. Beautiful...

I stayed here during the coast to coast. what welcoming, helpful nice people they are. made me feel right at home. did my washing for me. they actually have a decent sized bath as well!! proper soak! There was the normal choice of breakfast but on top of that, as an alternative there was the choice of a cheese board,...

Very friendly hosts and welcoming for walkers. Basic clean rooms, a pick up from the trail head and a drop off in the morning, as well as a ride to the pub for dinner are all pluses. The breakfast was filling and the hosts knowledgeable about walking.

We stayed on our Coast to Coast walk and had a pleasant stay. As there is no accommodation at Clay Bank walkers either need to stay at Great Broughton, Urra or Chop Gate. Stuart collected us from Clay Bank, arranging pick up by mobile phone from the plateau after the Wainstones, and dropped us back again in the morning. Stuart...

Many thanks for your kind words. This B&B is a home first and we try not to look like a hotel. Our dogs are allowed to wander the ground floor but at no time are they allowed upstairs. So if you are not keen on dogs do not go for the double room which is downstairs. As for morning time...

The hosts were friendly and welcoming so much so it is hard to actually write this. But it must be said this BB is not for everyone as it would appear with all the positive reviews it has. The premises cannot be anything but grubby with 2 dogs free to roam the house, dog hairs and dead flies in the...

We were on day 5 of a 570 mile trip north, and were stunned by the fabulous views in the North Yorkshire moors. It was a great relief to get off the saddle and be so warmly welcomed by Judy and Stuart who run a lovely B&B and didn't flinch at the dirty bikes and cyclists who presented themselves! A...

For Coast-to-Coast walkers, the area around Clay Bank Top is a bit troublesome because there is no accommodation in the immediate vicinity of the footpath. West Cote B&B is about 3.5 miles from the intersection with the B1257 road, a mile up the road from the Buck Inn in Chop Gate. Stuart and Judy were extremely accommodating and offered to...

Many thanks for your kind review. I know the walk is can be a trial. Although a B road it is a fast and busy one and I would not recommend it to anyone but I understand your urge to be a purist. For those who want a pick up and don't have a mobile what we do is get...
