The Mercure London Hyde Park Hotel garners praise for its exceptional cleanliness and attentive service, with numerous guests commending the staff's dedication. While opinions on the rooms are mixed, with some noting their compact size, others appreciate the quietness and well-appointed nature. The hotel's prime location near Paddington station and attractions is frequently lauded, although the immediate vicinity's ambiance has raised some concerns. Travelers are divided on the value, with critiques focusing on room dimensions and management, yet others find the pricing reasonable for central London.

We hosted a business eveng in the Hotel and were really happy with the facilities, service, location and food offering. We also took a number of rooms, mainly single rooms and although small they were newly renovated, well equipped and quiet with good quality beds and linen. The hotel is small with a nice friendly atmosphere and is a fantastic location very near Paddington station, you can be in Heathrow airport in a very short time via the Heathrow Express. The Hotel breakfast is very good quality and made to order. By far the best thing about the hotel is the staff. Every single member of staff we met without exception could not do enough for us and made the experience so easy, we will definitely be using this hotel again next time we need to host an event in London. Special mention to Roberto who looked after us over the weekend, nothing was too much trouble and he made sure everything was perfect. The event catering was also of a high standard and reasonably priced.

Booked 2 superior rooms for 4 people. Rooms are small but totally adequate, very clean, nicely decorated and excellent value for money. We had a room beneath the ground floor with doors onto an outside area which was nice because we like fresh air and to sleep with fresh air flowing into a room. We were able to leave the door open and feel safe as it was secure. The hotel is tucked away in a quiet square and not on a main road so it was particularly peaceful and quiet but yet a stones through from the convenience of Paddington station and a black cab to Selfridges only cost us 10 pounds. The room amenities were lovely and it’s a nice intimate hotel to escape the crowds of London. Lovely little touches In reception like water flavoured with fresh lemons and herbs in reception and complimentary fruit. The towels were also nice and plush, the bed was very comfortable and the linen was good. What I enjoyed most was the very pleasant staff. I was particularly impressed with Francesca on reception who went out of her way to make sure we had the most comfortable stay and were happy. Staff like that are diamonds. Breakfast was very good, and I particularly liked the compote and hash browns so well done to the chef who presents his produce in such a fresh and clean way. Would book these rooms again.

Booked a night to stay in a room with double bed. arrived at 4pm and told room not ready (which was odd as the place seemed deserted due to covid etc) however we were 'upgraded to a basement room (?) with a small balcony, so we could have a room immediately. room was nice, however showerhead was heavily scaled up and water was squirting out everywhere. told the GM this and she said it was cleaned a week ago, it wasn't. She said London has limescale issues (it does I'm well aware) but not enough to block the shower head in a week. She couldn't understand my query despite me speaking English (I'm English) The room booking offered a free minibar, however this was empty. GM said they cant offer the minibar due to covid19 (what?) despite this being included in cost? had issue with a big party in room next door, lots of people, complained to reception at 10pm and someone came down and knocked on their door, it soon went quiet to fair dues. The breakfast was outstanding, the Italian waiter on the sunday morning was fantastic. food was cooked to order, wasn't greasy and the coffee was fresh. worth paying the extra for breakfast at time of booking.
Oddly, the hotel seems to be joined to the indigo, we walked through reception the wrong way and ended up at the indigo reception adjacent.
complained to expedia about the points above and they gave me a £50 refund which was nice. Would i stay again? Probably so but before I unpack I'd inspect the room in more detail first, we were up against time on this stay.

Based on the reviews I read prior to booking this hotel it was a very disappointing experience. I booked a priveledged king room which stated on the website came with robes, slippers, water, soft drinks and none of these were in the room, when I enquired at reception they said it they were not allowed to put these in the room because of covid, this reason is absolutely fine except I paid for something that they advertised and did not provide. The waiter serving us breakfast was in a really bad mood also which wasn't exactly pleasant and the £50 they held for extras still hasn't been released into my account 1 week later. The rating of 2 out of 5 I gave was based purely on the hotel being in a good location

Dear gingerpalms1985, Thank you for sharing your feedback regarding your stay with us. I am truly sorry to learn we have not met your expectations on this occasion. Indeed, due to COVID we were unable to provide the extra amenities that we would usually provide, however the size and the quality of the room with the basic amenities have remained the same. Regarding the £50 pre-authorization, it is sometimes up to the issuing bank who could hold the money once you have checked out from the hotel. I do believe this has been resolved. Once again, thank you for sharing your comments and we hope you will give us a chance to welcome you back again and show you that this less satisfactory stay was just an exception. Yours sincerely, Stefan Mitsevski Operations Manager

I have just returned from a memorable post lockdown mini break. The staff at this hotel are exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble and we were made to feel like friends from the moment we checked in. Lucy on reception was extremely helpful and friendly, Oltita was the most loyal member of staff I have ever met, her customer service was excellent and she is an asset to the hotel. Despite the coronavirus, our stay exceeded our expectations and has reassured me that we are safe whilst experiencing a touch of luxury. The hotel is in a great location for exploring Hyde park and Oxford street. The rooms are small but the decor was stylish and was clean. The heated floors in the bathroom was lovely for my aching feet and the shower was powerful. The bed was huge and comfortable with plenty of pillows and it was a surprisingly quiet and restful nights sleep for central London. Breakfast was huge and plentiful. The buffet has been replaced with table service and the staff are extremely generous with the portion size, coffees refilled, extra portions of anything you could desire for a decent start to your day. I would highly recommend this hotel and I will definitely be returning.

Overall the stay was pleasant; in a quiet and convenient location (close to restaurants, bars, trains and cabs) making it easy to get around the city and visit major attractions, landmarks and sights.

Reservations: useless. The hotel charged accommodation 30 days in advance and on check in only then did they allocate a room - giving us a LG “basement room”. 0 out of 5.

Reception: friendly staff and very welcoming, BOURAN was memorable and made our stay truly comfortable and always greeted us with a smile. A couple of issues with the room (see below) which frustrated us were solved by her kindness and generosity during our stay with ease and without complaint. 4 out of 5.

Room: broken television, in room phone did not work; shower water pressure was terrible and had calcified, dust on some surfaces and Alexa did not work in the room (could not connect to Internet). These issues were plaguing our stay for 2 days until reception was able to resolve. The shower worked well after it was cleaned correctly. Dust was removed from the room and the patio was cleaned making for a more enjoyable remainder of our stay. 4 out of 5.

Service: BOURAN on reception went above and beyond to fix the issues with the room. Within hours of complaint via email and in person at the front desk, issues were resolved and an apology bottle of Prosecco, roses and chocolates were delivered to the room. All staff were kind and attentive. On check out, BOURAN organised our travel arrangement to the London City Airport which was ready and waiting on our return as promised to the hotel after some final sight seeing. 5 out of 5.

Restaurant: the restaurant located at this property Bella Italia is well attended to, breakfast in the room rate was choice of hot cooked item and access to an assortment of cold buffet and fresh juices. The omelette is massive so after two days of trying to eat it all we switched to a lighter option. 5 out of 5.

Bar: not impressed. Serves terrible bottom shelf beverages and has no view faces inwards to residential buildings that are disheveled. Service leaves much to be desired. 1 out of 5.

Recently stayed at the hotel for a 2 night stay. Hotel itself is nice enough however outside there were questionable characters hanging about in the gardens opposite and there was also a large pile of rubbish bags on the pavement at the property next door that was still there when I left, granted both are outside of the hotel's control but worth keeping in mind.

Also to keep in mind, as part of the changes in place due to covid the complimentary soft drinks and water in the mini bar advertised on the Accor website have been removed from the rooms and also the Nespresso machines have also been removed. I recently stayed at a Premier Inn in a Premier Plus room and they still had these options in the room plus some extra items so you have to wonder if it is just abit of cost cutting.

Another thing that I found slightly off was that as a Gold status member in Accor's loyalty scheme, you do get a number of benefits at each Accor property to reward loyalty, granted which are not always all guaranteed.

During my stay at this property I didn't get any of the benefits I should get as per Accor standard, there was no welcome drink voucher, there was no upgrade to the next room type and I was also not allowed to have a late check out. This is abit disappointing as I have even managed to get some of the benefits earlier in the month at an Ibis let alone a Mercure and the hotel wasn't full as I asked.

Next time I am in London, I probably wouldn't stay again due to the large number of Accor properties which I have had a better stay at.

As an essential traveler, Mercure London Hydpark Hotel accepted me under lock down in UK since 05JUN to 19JUL. Tomorrow, at last, my flight restart from Heathrow and so, today is the last day. I stayed both hotel and apartment. Reception equipped disinfection well and room was also clean up and disinfected. I am very much satisfied with facility and services. Long & Great stay with Kind and Sincere Hotel Staff, "Thank you, Oltita, Alberto & Luci !!" Love Makoto

Booked this to be close to where my partner was having an operation. Location is great. However, there were so many disappointing parts of the stay that mean we won’t be back when we next need to be in London.

The welcome was cold. I’d booked a superior room and it wasn’t as described. ‘Designer’ toiletries no where to be seen, empty fridge - not even a bottle of water, disposable cups, nespresso machine had 1 pod, small room considering the price, pillows were lumpy, water pressure was poor, and no where to put your towels once you were done with them. The description when booking mentioned tv entertainment system but we just had free view. The walls are incredibly thin despite being sold soundproof rooms so I’d recommend bringing ear plugs. Breakfast was with our booking and we had to show confirmation of that three times. Breakfast was awful, what I asked for and what I got were different things and the waiter didn’t come back. Im glad breakfast came with the room and I didn’t pay extra as the price to add breakfast on doesn’t add up to what you actually get. No one asked how the stay was when we checked out, staff don’t seem to care. The only exception being the housekeeping staff we saw when going to our room, who were friendly and asked about our day. Incredibly disappointing and annoyed I spent a lot of money on the hotel.

My recommendation is to go elsewhere, you’d get better facilities and service at a premier inn.

The room was very clean except the puddle of water on the floor in the bathroom, staff were friendly and the location was great as it was close to Hyde Park.

Unfortunately the full english breakfast was horrendous it was stone cold, over cooked and missing items. The breakfast is served in a linked Bella Italia restaurant and although the atmosphere was good and it was clean, the food was atrocious. I would not recommend the breakfast at all.

Our room was small but cozy although there were a few issues we noticed with the decor and the bathroom. The rooms need some maintenance as there is paint missing on door arches and the wallpaper is all messy. As well as that when we first got into the room the disposable toilet bags container had fallen off the wall and just been left on the floor behind the toilet.

Next I will move onto the bed and sleeping unfortunately the duvet for a double bed was far too big and far too heavy that you couldn't sleep soundly as you would need all your strength to lift it up. Not to mention at around 1.30am it sounded like an airplane had landed in the room and the engines were still cooling down and this disrupted our sleep and seem to go on till we left the hotel. At first I thought it was the air con but it continue once this was turned off.

Overall I would recommend the hotel for a 1 night stay but I would bring your own duvet and breakfast. Ear plugs may also help as you can hear every noise at night from people using the lift to people opening and shutting the doors etc.

Thank you for having us.
