Great location close to London Bridge, Tower Bridge and Shad Thames; a pleasant change after previously staying in places "closer to the action". Very good staff (friendly and accommodating; allowed friends to leave luggage with us in left luggage). Our apartment was small but perfectly adequate. Comfortable accommodation with basic facilities you'd expect and need. Also a wonderful view over... More

We booked this place as my girlfriend and I were staying in London for the weekend. A short 10 minute walk from London Bridge tube station, we arrived to find out on check out they had upgraded us to a 2 bedroomed apartment with a view of The Shard. The apartments are massive and so equipped with everything you need.... More

Very convenient location, great neighborhood, and VERY nice appartment. Mine was on a roof, with a view to the Shard and up to the London Eye. Spacious and very cosy, it made me feel at home. I will definitely come back.

I spent two nights at the Maltings on a weekend away with friends. The apartments were clean and reasonably well equipped. The situation was perfect for places such as the Shard and also Borough Market but also close enough to London Bridge Station to make travelling "up West" easy. The staff were incredibly helpful and polite, nothing was too much... More

Stayed at this location as we had a two day work function nearby, for a holiday I would prefer something closer to town or the underground. The apartments are spacious but a little tired, some small things missing but generally clean and okay. This actual hotel is behind the facade and seems to be in an old office building, but... More

This so called apartment is majorly under equipped. After having spent the last couple of weeks in apartments in Spain, Granada and Seville, I am underwhelmed. It is very knocked about and the flooring is remarkably creaky and uneven. When we arrived the soap dish in the bathroom was hanging down at such an angle it wouldn't keep the soap... More

Although slightly further from a tube station than I would have liked (especially in the rain) I have to say I found this apartment a great change to some of the much more expensive hotels I normally stay in when I'm in London. Reception was friendly when I checked in around 9pm, and I was escorted to the room as... More

Stayed here through work so did not make use of all facilities. The room was a little tired, but spacious, I had a 2 bed apartment good sized kitchen, living space, 2 double beds, 2 baths. The hotel used to be the sarsens vinegar factory, nice bit of history. There is 24 hour manned reception, and I have to say... More

Staying in Southwark

Neighbourhood Profile
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighbourhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
