My mom and I stayed at The Rockwell for 10 nights in August 2016. It was our first trip to London and we spent hours looking for the perfect room. We created a spreadsheet that listed all of the amenities we wanted including central air, WiFi, two beds, extra room to move, bathroom en suite, coffee maker in the room,...

I booked one of the suites for a birthday celebration and I was not disappointed. The staff were fantastic and attentive and although I arrived a full 4 hours before my check in time, very accommodating. I never had a chance to eat here but so I can't comment on food but everything else was immaculate! I will certainly be...

This hotel is within walking distance of Earls Court station and convenient for the tube to anywhere. The personnel are welcoming and helpful. The hotel is tastefully decorated and contemporary. Breakfast good. I had a lower ground room which opened onto a patio. Loved it. Loved the calm. Would reserve there anytime.

We went for a city-trip to London for the second time and we booked this hotel via secretescapes.com, which we did not regret at all, because when we arrived we received an upgrade to a mezzanine, which we loved of course :) We loved the style of the hotel so much, that we wouldn't hesitate to go back. Staff was...

Small boutique hotel in Kensington. The staff are very friendly and helpful. No need to include breakfast with room since Earl's Court Rd. is around the corner. There are some nice places to eat there, as well as catching the tube. It's a pleasant walk from the hotel to Victoria and Albert museum, natural history museum, Kensington Palace, and Royal...

Found this offer through Secret Escapes and we stayed for 1 night. I'm currently writing this at breakfast in the hotel. I was pleasantly surprised how nice it is in here. Great Location...only 5 mins walk from Earls Court tube station. However myself and my partner walked everywhere after we dropped the bags. Room was a good size...everything we needed...shower...

I've stayed here at a total of 3 times between February and March for work in London. The first two times I stayed in normal double rooms - which was fine (although one of them was quite cold). It had all I needed though, comfy bed (although I only had a proper blanket in the cold room), TV and a...

We stayed in this hotel for one night to celebrate my husbands 50th birthday. On arrival we found we had been upgraded to a suite, and was offered a complmentary glass of prosecco, which was wonderful. The suite was lovely. Not huge, but very clean, and the mezzanine, with sofa, chair and tv was a nice feature. The room was...

The Rockwell is stylish, well appointed and excellent value for London. Staff are helpful and friendly. Rooms are modern and comfortable. There's a good hot or cold buffet breakfast and the restaurant has a good lunch and dinner menu. It's within walking distance of the British Museum and the V&A and close to Earl's Court Tube.

The Rockwell is a fairly small hotel in the heart of Kensington. You have easy access to the underground, plenty of restaurants, the museums and Kensington High Street. Our room had an acceptable size and was overlooking Cromwell Road and its busy traffic. Unfortunately you could hear the noise from the road in your room although the window was closed....

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
