YMCA ISH is a package, for people looking for Indian style, food and accommodation. Small rooms but sufficient for a study room. Few wings are for hotel-style rooms but cant expect more as the name says, its a hostel. Food, especially breakfast is good, made...More
The cafeteria serves excellent Indian food at very inexpensive prices. The food is freshly prepared and is delicious. No nonsense self service in the hostel's cafeteria. Many food options and we enjoyed several curries. Naan and rice were very good.
I stayed here for 10 days. It was bad. I was new to London. People here don't help. They have no sympathy. The people here are stuck up in 1950s. An example of this is here: There is a common iron box (press) for the...More
Restaurant part of Indian YMCA. Choice is simple, but cooking is great. Self service, authentic Indian cuisine. Very friendly and helpful staff no alcohol. Great value for money destination in Fitzrovia!
The first rule “Please” and “thank you” for every request in UK. Even you are supposed to say thank you to the driver when you de-board the bus. Plan your trip well in advance and at least six months. Air fares, hostel / B &...More
This sophisticated and sociable slice of Central London is a shopper’s paradise, offering the latest fashions, gadgets, and souvenirs. Fitzrovia is conveniently located between the major retail thoroughfares of Regent Street to the west and Tottenham Court Road to the east, with a handful of well connected Tube stations dotted around the area for easy transport. This neighbourhood is a favorite
among foodies as well, with an impressive number of quality restaurants, pubs, cafes and food shops vying for your patronage – especially along Charlotte Street and near Goodge Street Station.

Hi, The room in which we stayed had moulds in the corners of the shower cabin and soap holder. You would also need to tell the house keeping people to change your towels and only then they will do it. Also there is dust in the vents of the bathroom. Having said this, you may register a complaint with the reception and they may be able to help. In my case the light suddenly went off and they got it checked and got it back again.
My stay was only for 5 days, however I did notice a lot of students staying here and would believe they were staying for long.
Hope this helps.

The menu has a spread of Indian recipes including Breakfast ,Lunch and Dinner with vegetarian including rice, plain or vegetable rice, salads, pulses, pickles, Indian bread and desert. There is a non veg dish also with lunch and dinner (with curry ). Given for the price that is there in YMCA , it is a suitable, simple and healthy food menu.
