Considering our room was not standard it seemed pretty basic compared to other hotels we have stayed at. Music facilities were only compatible w/ iphone4. TV wish very small hard to see writing. Lighting was not that great even with curtains drawn. There was no toothbrush kit, which you would expect, however we were provide when asking. Room service was...

My husband and I stay here every time we come to London, but it was not up to its usual service. The check in was rushed and the person checking us in would ask us questions but not listen to our answers. The rest of the staff was lovely throughout our visit. Breakfast was lack lustre and it was like...

While at the hotel, we needed to extend our stay. Upon calling the room reservation line, we were told that we would need to change rooms, and that the only available rooms were club rooms, at an additional cost. We were traveling to Paris on the day of the day that we needed to change rooms, so we spoke with...

Later on in the evening when we were about to go to sleep we realised we could here the lift from our room and it was rather annoying! Having...

I have stayed at this hotel a few times but sadly this time it was far too disorganised and chaotic and really changed my opinion of this hotel. On the positives, the hotel is centrally located and close to St Paul's Cathedral and tube station. It is good for getting into central London and for access to the east. The...

Stayed here last night. Great location, room spacious and quiet with nice bathroom. View from the room not great but we weren't too worried as weren't in the room for long. Beautiful views of St Paul's and The Shard from the rooftop. Only 2 gripes - TV a little small for the size of the room but main issue for...

I have recently visited the hotel for a couple of drinks with my friends, which we had in the ground floor bar. The hotel for the first impression looked lovely and welcoming with a modern design, however, it seemed we visited it in a quiet period as it looked quite empty with only a few business guests wandering around. The...

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
