We stayed for 1 night during the July heatwave - tiny room at the top of the hotel, clean and good facilities (we had to have a cold shower as soon as we arrived), but no fan or air con, so we had to have the windows open and the shutters over - tip with the sash window - open...

We stayed the one night and although we had booked for the Excelsior hotel, we actually stayed in the Melvile. The room was very small and the double bed was tiny. But the room had everything we needed and was clean and tidy. For what we paid for the room I have no complaints really.

I thought I'd begin my review with our experience of leaving the hotel. Upon arrival at the hotel at 8pm to collect our bags before getting out train home, we were confronted by a very angry group of customers who refused to stay at the Melville's sister hotel, the Excelsior. They were very rude and condescending in their manner and...

Being on a budget, the stay at the Excelsior was ok. In honesty though, we didn't get much more than you would at some YHA's around the country. Check in is confused to say the least. They have you check-in in their 'sister' hotel just next door, which, not like the Excelsior, is very swish and sparkly; however...the hotel's definition...

I was in a third floor room and biggest complaint is how absolutely awful the wifi connection was up there. In and out and slow! At one point I went down to the first floor, sat on the steps, and did what I needed to do. I would've been happy if I'd just had reliable wifi!! My advice to them:...

Hello I stayed in Excelsior Hotel 12 - 14.04 for my birthday. I was shocked when I saw the room. It was really small and did not look nice. My mom made the booking and she watched the wrong pictures of the room so from that this disappointment probably came. Shower was okay, it was clean and we had warm...

Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum.
