Almost everything about this hotel is exceptional. The location is great for easy walking to most central London attractions. Minor issues. The fantastic rainfall showers always flood the bathrooms leaving you with a soaking wet bathmat. The switchgear in the bedrooms is so sleek and black that the switches are impossible to find in the night.

From the moment we stepped out of the taxi we were made to feel welcome and pampered. The hotel is luxurious but relaxing. Service is first rate and the food excellent. The pool and sauna was a welcome break from our theatre and shopping (which is right on the doorstep)

I travel to London 8-10/year and had never noticed or stayed at this hotel. I recently stayed there for a set of work meetings. I am generally skeptical of non-major chain hotels, but this one I found very nice. One of the most unique aspects of this small hotel is that the dichotomy between the common areas and the rooms....

My husband and I were impressed from the moment we entered the hotel. From the greetings and warmth shown by the staff. The Green Bar was the starting point for a birthday celebration and the Manager on shift at 17:00hrs was exceptional, he made us feel so welcome and special and his attention too service was 5 star. If we...

Returning to the Hotel Cafe Royal is such a pleasure. The contrast between the chaos outside on Regent Street and the absolute calm and refinement within the hotel could not be more exaggerated. I find the Chipperfield-designed interiors to be so perfect and solid feeling that it's hard to find fault unless you're more comfortable with chintz and homemade craftiness...

Wonderful stay at the cafe Royal for my friends birthday,I have stayed at this hotel many times, my only disappointment was the view of the office block from our room! Amazing cocktails in the green room. We booked a full body massage at the spa, this was amazing, such experienced therapists, would definitely recommend a treatment, spa facilities are beautiful.

A beautiful hotel , decor superb, service v good . Only sour point is it seems the hotel door staff are ripping guests off with car service, they arranged a car from Heathrow for us £165. We got a London Taxi on return to Heathrow £66. Arrange your own transport

This hotel is quite superb and exceeded expectation. The rooms and spa and brilliant and hard to beat the location. We had a few teething problems (didn't tell us our room was ready, didn't give us our VIP discount card until well after we had checked in and been shopping) The spa was so relaxing and amazing given Regents street...

This hotel has a wonderful location! It's very central! Their food/in-room dining is great and the quality of rooms/facilities are great. I recommend the suites as the basic room is quite small (like most standard rooms in London). It's my second time staying here, I'll probably book here for all my future visits to London! 👌🏻👍🏻

We thought the staff and service at Hotel Cafe Royal was impeccable. And... the location was perfect. We were however, very disappointed in the quality of the room at what was supposed to be a five-star hotel and one that we paid five-star prices to stay in. We were looking for something special, but the room could hardly qualify as...

Thank you for staying at Hotel Café Royal and taking the time to leave a review. We're glad to hear you appreciated the staff, service and our marble bathrooms. Staying in Soho

Neighbourhood Profile
Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighbourhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Combining architectural heritage with contemporary design, Cafe Royal has been reincarnated as a luxury hotel in the heart of London's West End with the elegance of Mayfair to the west and the creativity of Soho to the east. Grand historic areas have been sensitively restored while 160 guestrooms, including 49 suites and six signature suites have been created in a contemporary yet refined style. Our guestrooms start from approximately 35 sq m / 377 sq ft to 212 sq m / 2,281sq ft with every room presenting itself as a suite. Continuing its celebrated legacy, Hotel Cafe Royal offers a selection of restaurants and bars for guests to enjoy. At the heart of the hotel, the Ten Room offers British informal dining all-day, while the Green Bar is the perfect place to relax and unwind with a cocktail. Restored to revive the ornate Louis XVI decor and detailing, the iconic Oscar Wilde Bar (formerly the legendary Grill Room, originally established in 1865), is now the place to enjoy Champagne, cocktails and a light menu of British dishes and live entertainment on select evenings. The Cafe, on Regent Street, revives the European tradition of cafe culture. To complete the experience, the Akasha Holistic Wellbeing Centre is an urban retreat in the centre of the capital spanning over 1,200 sq m / 13,000 sq ft featuring a large lap pool, sauna and Hammam/steam room and offering a range of signature treatments. Reflecting a core vision to harmoniously unite the four natural elements of nature, Akasha features four corresponding spaces; lounge/earth, spa/water, gym/fire, yoga/air. ... more   less
