We just returned from a visit to London and we stayed at the Jesmond on Gower Street. We were very happy with the place. It may be small but it was perfectly located - very close to Oxford St., Regent St., well located. The staff were friendly and helpful and I would strongly recommend this to anyone looking for a...

My husband and I just came home from a 14 day stay in room 1 which faced the garden and was wonderfully quiet. Our room was clean and serviced daily. We loved our inclusive breakfast which had the choice of fruit, cheese, cereals, eggs, sausage, bacon, toast, jams, coffee, tea, orange juice and milk. The staff was attentive and caring....

I just returned from a two prong stay at this hotel. I first stayed 7 nights on the arrival side of my trip and 2 nights at the end. I LOVED this place. The staff were amazing. Beck was at the check in the entire first week of our stay and cheerfully ran (yes, literally ran) our luggage up to...

I did not care for this hotel. It's true that the location is good, but that can be said of all the hotels on Gower Street and vicinity. Good bus access, and easily walkable to most of London's city-central sights. I arrived tired, and traveling alone, however, and did not find the hotel staff friendly at all. I had a...

Hello DLCAlberta, I am sorry to hear of the negative aspects of you stay, which you comment on. I am very surprised at the unfriendly manner with which you were greeted at your check-in, and the fact that you were not offered help with your luggage. Assistance with your luggage may have only been available later that day when a...

I was on a fellowship at the U of London and my partner accompanied me. He had never been to London and I wanted to stay somewhere that would allow him to roam the city by day and the two of us to do likewise at night. We were certainly not disappointed in the Jesmond. A colleague at my university...

We stayed 5 nights in this B&B Hotel. The location is perfect for exploring London. Buses outside the door and easy walk to underground but we only ever used the buses. We also walked easily to Trafalgar Sq. The British Museum is just down the road. The breakfast was excellent, full english. Not at all greasy and plenty of it....

We have just returned home from an amazing 19 night stay in the UK and our last 8 nights were at the Jesmond Hotel on Gower Street near the British Museum. Our family of four stayed in Room 2 which was huge. Rooms in Britain are usually quite tiny, but this room was larger than the room we had at...

This small family run hotel was ideal. We are a couple in our late 50s travelling with daughter & son-in-law. Rooms were clean, beds comfortable, had TV, tea/coffee making facilities, ensuite had lots of hot water. Our room overlooked garden. It is an old terrace building, therefore expect steep narrow stairs, but there are a couple of rooms on ground...

While vacationing in London we stayed for six nights in a double room, en suite, at Jesmond Hotel. The Hotel is excellently located and public transportation was easily utilized (4 tube stations within walking distance). The room was quiet and of very good value. The higher floors might be hard to reach for the eldery since older buildings don't have...

We stayed at the Jesmond for 6 nights, having just arrived today. My husband and I had a double room and our teenage son a single room , both en-suite. On the first 4 nights my husband and I stayed in a triple room facing the street and then, due to booking issues, we moved to a double room in...

Neighbourhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
