This hotel offers simple yet reliable and functional accommodation. Yes the rooms are small but the beds and bathrooms are clean and comfortable and the location really is great (less than a ten minute walk down to Oxford Street). The staff are friendly and courteous (happy to help with directions etc) and the free Internet access (an actual computer for...

The staff and facility of the Jesmond are warm and inviting. A short walk from two underground stations made it very convenient. My husband and I loved our room as well as the lovely breakfast served each morning. The value was incredible. We had a great time.

My husband, daughter, and I spent one week at the Jesmond Hotel, a small urban bed and breakfast. It was packed because it was the week between Christmas and New Year's, so if you plan on going there this time of year, book early. We booked very early, back in June. The accommodations are very simple, but very comfortable. There's...

As a solo traveller, I was looking for something in a good location, that was affordable and that was clean. The Jesmond met all three of these conditions. It was very affordable, at 45 pounds a night for a single (shared facilities 2 nights, one night with an ensuite). It's very close to the underground and the British Museum. The...

My parents from the US came to UK for my wedding. Before the wedding I 'gave' them a 3 night stay in London to see the sites. I chose Jesmond due to the reviews on TripAdvisor. I called to make the reservations with my UK-based credit card about 3 months before their date to stay at Jesmond. I was told...

Hello “Brenda Murray”, I am very sorry to hear of the negative aspects of your parent’s stay, which you comment on, especially as I personally remember speaking with your parents about your forthcoming wedding and I believe that they were enjoying their stay with us. In response to the first issue, the time they waited, and the unfriendly manner with...

I chose this hotel based on reviews from Trip advisor and the availablilty at time. I was travelling with my parents and my three grown sibilings so we booked a double and a quad. It is not a very posh hotel but we didn't want that. The location is fantastic; a few minutes from the British Museum and a few...

It's not Claridge's. The rooms are small. The bathrooms are smaller than you'd think possible. But by the standards of London hotels, this is a great value. I've stayed in three rooms there and though one of them frankly needed to be remodeled (not dirty, but old) the other two were very pleasant and very quiet. The other advantage is...

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at Jesmond Hotel for 8 days in November 2009. The staff was exceptionally friendly, our basement room was quiet, and you can choose between a Continental or a full English breakfast quickly prepared for you every day. The hotel is located in a great section of London and is close to an...

An unpretentious but welcoming hotel that offers clean, comfortable rooms and a good breakfast.. En-suite bathrooms are a little small but that is to be expected in non-purpose built hotels. Management is very friendly and helpful. Hotel location is ideal, being walking distance from the Underground, Bloomsbury (the British Museum) and the city. Despite its central location, it is remarkably...

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighbourhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
