I always think you can't go wrong with an Ibis Hotel. You know that you're going to get a good standard of room, with good staff. This particular hotel is ideally placed for the tube, as Algate East is literally next door, so it's great to get around London from this location. I really like the bar in this hotel...

I stayed here for three nights in a twin room with a friend. Luckily we got quite a good rate. I say luckily because I would have been disappointed if we paid the full rate. The room was OK - passable but that's about it. For some reason we also had an extra trundle bed set up in the room....

We'd previously been happy with hotels in the Ibis chain and this one offered the best value for our required location near to Liverpool Street Station. On the plus side our room was a reasonable size and was clean and comfortable. On the minus side the carpet needed replacing, the bed linen was past its best and the towels were...

The hotel is conveniently situated a few metres from Aldgate East Underground Station and within walking distance to the Tower of London area. The bedrooms are clean with TV, kettle, tea and coffee but no hair drier or clothes iron. There are rooms for ironing on 3 different floors. Broadband is available at extra cost. The shower room is of adequate...

The hotel is what you expect from Ibis; good value for money if you're not expecting any luxury. I prefer City to the Euston-St. Pancras Ibis because it is cleaner and generally you don't need to queue forever at reception. The location is good too, right next to Aldgate East tube station - it is a little further out but...

The desk staff were very friendly and helpful, assisting me with finding local streets etc Bar and restaurant staff were friendly and smiling :-) The rooms were tidy and well kept. Close to the Underground. Easy walking distance of the Tower of London, Tower Bridge and Canary Wharf.

The staff is helpful. The room was clean. Bathroom is pretty decent. We had a little drainage issue in the shower, but it was fixed within a few hours. The mattress wasn't the greatest but still comfortable enough to sleep well. The location is quite convenient. Right next to East Aldgate tube station. There is a Starbucks a few blocks...

Staying in Whitechapel

Neighbourhood Profile
Whitechapel
Whether you're here for its dynamic street life, world class galleries or famed curry houses, you're bound to be wowed by the uniquely cosmopolitan flavor of Whitechapel. Long gone are the days when Jack the Ripper stalked its streets. And despite his mysterious legacy bringing throngs of curiosity driven tour groups to its back alleys and otherwise serene garden squares, these days you're more likely to catch a cutting edge fashionista scurrying through its age old lanes than criminals of any sort.
