I had tickets to an event at UCL, and stumbled across The Goodenough Club while searching for somewhere to stay nearby. I'd never heard of it, but the name caught my attention......and I'm so glad I've discovered it! What a delightful location - such a peaceful oasis, surrounded by the hussle and bustle of London. Just 5mins walk from Russel...

This is an unusual hotel. Part of a post grad halls of residence for international students and their families. We love it. Easy to park outside at weekends. So tranquil yet easy reach to tube or walk to Strand or Soho in 25 mins. Rooms large, well fitted modern bathrooms. Worth paying extra for views of the square. We got...

I booked this hotel as it had a king sized bed for a reasonable London price. (Which is still very expensive). We were pleased with the comfortable bed, the renovated bathroom, and the friendly staff. We weren't very impressed, however, that our "courtyard view" room was a full flight of stairs below ground. We couldn't see a courtyard at all,...

A late arrival to a very polite and organised front desk. I was upgraded to a lovely quiet clean spacious room with fantastic views over the square. I think I've found a nice "bolt hole" when stopping in London.

The hotel is a very British one. Old semi-detached houses, red carpet stairs, large windows. There is no lift that can be a problem if one is on the last floor - the fourth, but the quiet and cozy atmosphere is a compensation for climbing the old stairs. The rooms are not big, but those are not common in London....

Visiting as a married couple celebrating our Ruby Wedding Anniversary, when we arrived, we informed the receptionists of this and they freely upgraded our superior room to a HOUSE/SUITE. We were given number 25 Mecklenburg, suite 511, and it was lovely. Views through 3 lovely, well maintained and nipping clean room length sash windows onto a park with tennis courts....

Quiet setting - centrally located vs Russell Square and Kimg's Cross subway stations. Good staff. Breakfast recommended. Funny setting as it seems to be part of a university. So breakfast and dinner between university staff and students. Would advise to stay here.

There is always a good reason to come back to the Goodenough Club; this time we wanted to celebrate my wife Anna's birthday and spend some time with our son Fabio who has been a resident in this College for some years now.
