A 1st time stay at this hotel very nice rooms and brilliant Tv check in process I understand the deposit policy though don’t hotels these days take the deposit policy into account as part of a booking rather than it taken separately ie as part of a room booking showing I.D etc understandable also didn’t opt for the breakfast so can’t say there all in all a pleasant stay.
Like many other people booking this hotel, I got a message two days prior to arrival saying my card had been declined for pre-authorisation. And like many other people, the card account was fine and should not have been declined. Phoned them to give a different card and they refused, saying they do not accept card details over the phone and that they would only accept via email, even though I had changed card details over the phone for another reason a few weeks earlier. Anyone with half an ounce of intelligence knows that emailing the card number, expiry date and security code is risky and should never be done. It is completely unprofessional for a company to expect you to do this and it makes me wonder if there's some kind of organised routine they go through to so they can get a cancellation and sell the room at a higher price. I cannot trust a company that operates like this. I went elsewhere.…
We stayed for 2 nights. We enjoyed our stay - both very comfortable & central to our needs. Thank you! We will be back in the near future. Considering how busy the area is, we were pleasantly surprised at how peaceful & quiet the room was. We opted for the complimentary breakfast which was more than sufficient
Filthy shabby hotel and complete rip off for the price! Skirting boards were covered in thick dust, stains all over the carpet and towels and unknown hairs on the bed! We booked for our anniversary and were excited about the air con as a heatwave in London but it wasn’t working! Told the night manager and he said he would check it but we never saw him again! Forced to open a window which had no safety catch and was a very steep fall but then had to deal with the street noise and very strong stench of urine from the pub below! The fact they charge an extra £50 deposit for damages is laughable as it is a total dump! Avoid!
Wonderful price and a great location! Upon entry the rooms were nice and tidy. Everyone in my group noted how comfortable the beds were, we slept very well at night! The staff is friendly and accommodating. Nothing particularly spectacular or very unique about the place, pretty standard, but lovely just the same!
Room and hotel common areas were clean and nicely decorated, although we were greeting with a strong bleach smell? Checking is a bit of faff. The receptionist didn’t seem to rush. Receptionist also took a scan of my driving license which made me feel a bit uncomfortable (not sure if this is good practice because of GDPR and the amount of sensitive information my driving license has on it!?) £50 deposit was a bit of shock as it is in VERY VERY small print on booking confirmation, the person on the front desk made paying it more complicated that it needed to be, to the point where I had to ask “what to do want me to do” Good location for what we were in London for. Room was slightly drafty and could hear noise from the street but not bad for the price you pay
Our room looked exactly like the pictures on the site, it isn't modern or fancy, but it is clean. The receptionist was really friendly on arrival (although the process was a bit of a faff) and they did take a £50 deposit per room on check-in, but they refunded it the same day of check-out - it wasn't a problem for us but worth noting as we weren't aware of this beforehand! There was also water in the fridge in the room. Great location, tucked away off the main Shoreditch high street & with a little bar on the corner too. They offer breakfast (juice/coffee/croissant included or more for a fee) but we didn't take this as we went out instead. There's also a little coffee bar in reception (but we didn't use this either). No hairdryers or ironing facilities in the rooms, but I called reception to ask for an iron & was brought one up. Would definitely recommend as a low (for London) cost option for a quick stay in Shoreditch.…
Booked for 3 nights through a 3rd party booking service and 2 days before arrival, told that my card was declined for pre authorisation. I updated my card as requested but still no joy. Having spoken to the hotel and booking agent, was told to call the bank who informed me that the hotel were not processing the payment correctly. Having informed the Shoreditch of this, they said they couldn't possibly be doing it wrong. I then provided another card and yet again declined, so they said they never have a problem with cards but neither of mine worked....I don't think so. No manager available to speak to and was told there was nothing else they could do. They said they would cancel my booking and I'd have to rebook and pay online. Funnily enough price had then increased by £100. Do not get ripped off by this hotel.…
The beds slant in a downward fashion causing you to slide down hitting the foot boards and hitting your toes. You get no sleep! The reception was rude, accommodations were in a deplorable state such as stains on carpet. Not a pleasant place to stay.
stayed here for a family trip start of january. Came home everything fine a few minor problems with the rooms during stay. 5 days later i get an email accusing myself that I've taken an iron board from the room and if i had id be charged. Said iron board was handed to us by male receptionist and asked us to take it to our room which we did and left there and didn't even use. And when i phone to tell them we didn't take it and to check CCTV, then to be told they have already charged me for it. Ask to speak to a manager about it and none available! Shocking service and way to treat people! Would advise people not to stay here as shocking treatment and no response!
