We arrived 30 minutes early on a Saturday morning for a 1 night stay only to be told we'd have to wait an hour before we could check in. My husband queried this versus our booking information and we are given a basement room within 10 mins. A similar thing happened to our friends who arrived an hour or so...

This place exceeded our expectations in every way. We booked a family room sleeping 5 (hard to find good accommodation at a good price anywhere!) and for the price didn't really have high hopes. The Hotel is in a quiet street just a short stroll from either Notting Hill Gate, Queensway or Bayswater tube stations (fantastic location!). When we checked...

Stayed here for 3 nights while they were redecorating. Rooms are very clean but basic. There is a lot of complaints on here about the breakfast but I thought it was fine, there is a choice of cereals, toast with jam, marmalade, ham and cheese, fruit juices, coffee and croissants. The location is brilliant a few minute walk to the...

+Excellent location - just a couple of blocks to the Knotting Hill underground station and the Portobello Market; a few steps to a laundromat and delicious coffee shop - we enjoyed coffee while washing clothes:) Safe neighborhood. We enjoyed watching some children walking to school in their hats and blazers - so London. The staff was pleasant and accommodating as...

The Blue Bells in London's Notting Hill district is a pleasant hotel in a good location, which, as an added bonus, is fairly cheap and still clean, with friendly staff and a surprisingly good breakfast. In recent years the walls inside and the facade have been painted and now they are refurbishing the hotel according to the original design. The...

Well situated (Notting Hill) and very clean simple hotel at a lovely square near to the tube station Notting Hill Gate. I had reserved a single room and have gotten a big and comfortable room for two to the rear with a big window which I could open. It was very quiet. At night one could hear passing the tube...

Only 5 minutes walk from Notting Hill Gate tube station and Portobello Road Market. Friendly and helpful staff. The room was newly redecorated, but not all the light fittings were installed. (Not a problem for us, but really should be done before the rooms are let) The breakfast is typical for British Continental; toast, butter, jam, orange juice, milk and...

I reserved a rom with a bath, which I require for medical reasons. Upon arrival, I was taken to a room with a shower, which had about four beds in it. Naturally, I refused this room and after much unnecessary fuss and bother was allocated a room with a bath. The plug had no chain and got stuck the following...

Staying in Notting Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighbourhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.
