Spent 4 days here while my husband was in St George's Hospital. Right in the grounds so not far to walk to hospital. Very clean, room cleaned every day and a very reasonable price. I would definitely stay again and would recommend to people who want to be near patients.

Stayed just one night prior to an appointment. Booked over the phone, tried hard to repeat my details when asked by upon arrival noticed name spelt wrong anyway. Room was refurbished to quite a good standard. Bed was made but without a duvet! I asked for one but only a blanket could be found. The night was therefore cold and...

It was nice to see that the renovation is progressing well. The reception is new and now open 24/7 and they have surveillance cameras on each floor. One can really feel safe in that house. There is now a brand new restaurant downstairs: Tiger Bills http://tigerbills.co.uk I am sure Ingleby...

We have just spent several nights at Ingleby House which is adjacent to St George's Hospital, Tooting.Having arrived following an emergency at the hospital we were directed to Ingleby House. We were able to book in quickly and with no fuss. We then needed extra rooms for other family members as they arrived. The staff are amazingly friendly and helpful...

We're living here for a few months, the rooms are great, kitchen is wonderful and the location is very good! Not a lot of disturbance from the builders working on floors 1-3. Only down sides are that our rooms are located on the 12th floor, and there's some kind of growling sound above us which is there pretty much non-stop....

I booked a double room for myself and my daughter while my wife had a lung operation for cancer, I was sorry to say that I booked it over the phone before I saw the hotel/building site... It is a building site with builders working nearly everywhere, Our room was ok if you did not have to get to it...

If I had had the time to read reviews before I stayed there I would not have booked. Do not stay here until the building works have finished!! My husband was having major surgery and I wanted to be as near as possible without the worry of walking around Tooting at night finding a room. I paid £75 per night...

This substandard accommodation is beyond words. DO NOT STAY here at any cost. The expense of the property is extortionate, I paid £900 for five weeks in this accommodation, being told only on check out that my £150 deposit was not a deposit at all but an "administration fee" which was never going to be returned. Staff are rude, very...

I had a course in London and returned to Ingleby House last week. I had the opportunity to stay in a refurbished room as the very first guest. Wow, what a difference! Everything brand new: glazed tile floor, new windows, new bed and cupboard, bathroom with a shower cabin, hand wash basin with a mixer tap. A real hotel room. The...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Nestled in the wonderful grounds of St.George’s Hospital and St. George’s University this hotel offers affordable accommodation in the heart of Tooting, London. This unique building owes its beginnings to the NHS - originally and still a part of the St George's Hospital building complex, it was designed to cater for the accommodation of staff and visitors of the hospital. With the time gone by and the ever shrinking budgets of the NHS, the building kept its use and was well maintained to serve the basic needs of its guests. It is well kept, clean and tidy - which makes for a great base for a hotel - with basic accommodation and service.2012 marked the beginning of the building's new live as a private venture and is now scheduled for well deserved refurbishment to greet 2013 with modern style and service. The current uniqueness of the building is brought about its set-up - the two lifts join the building's four towers like the spine of a this timid and welcoming giant. Each tower in its floor forms an enclosing apartment which contains the guest rooms. The enclosing apartment offers double security with the apartment door and the bedroom doors securely locked. Each enclosing apartment has a decent size but basic bathroom with a bathtub and shower and a kitchenette accessible to the adjoining guest rooms. In that respect the non-ensuite rooms - or as we call them the Basic Rooms are well suited with the bathroom and kitchenette close by. ... more   less
