I am used to staying in IHG's range of hotels from the elegant Intercontinental to the practical Holiday Inn Express. Whilst I prefer the Intercontinental Hotels, location quite often dictates staying in another brand. So this time when I had to attend business meetings in Fleet Street, I opted to stay in the Crowne Plaza - London -The City near...

Room was comfortable. Breakfast was amazing. Location more Blackfriars than Covent Garden so had to walk more than expected to get around. Most of the staff were helpful, more so at breakfast than in the evening.

A really excellent stay in every way, in a superb location. The staff were super friendly and attentive. The breakfasts were excellent. The room was quiet, spacious, very clean, and the bed wonderfully comfortable. We have stayed twice, so it must be good! Very consistent

I stayed in Crowne Plaza London for two night while on business trip. Excellent staff with real service attitude. My room was big and fresh, had a good sleep. High-speed internet was free for guests. The hotel is well located, Blackfriars tube just next door and short walk from St Paul tube station.

My review can only be a little biased. Afterall, I stay at this hotel often and I am treated very specially, which I am very appreciative of. The hotel is well located, right next to Blackfriars underground station and within walking distance to many of London's main attractions. The staff is always trying their best, and their Guest Relations Managers...

Our hotel room was lovely and clean. Very quiet and a comfy bed. It was the perfect location for us. We ate in the Italian restaurant and the food was fantastic. The menu was quite varied so covers all tastes. The wine list was limited but we found wines we liked.

Four of us stayed here while celebrating my husbands birthday & a wedding anniversary. My husband does stay here a lot in business, however, they went out of their way to make us all feel special: room upgrade, bottle of prosecco & chocolate Birthday cakes🎂🍾. Wonderful position in London for exploring the sights on foot & convenient for travel from...

I love this hotel for it's central location. It is opposite Blackfriars station/tube and a pleasant walk next to the Thames takes you to the Houses of Parliament. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. However, the rooms are stuffy with no way of opening the windows. The room I was in felt a little tired and basic for the...

The staff are always top drawer, very friendly and professional. The rooms are always spotless and the bathrooms are well stocked. Two minutes walk from Blackfriars underground, seven minutes walk to St Paul's, 1/2 hour stroll to Borough Market or South Bank. It's perfect for a London trip. We really love this hotel!

A typical Crowne room. Spacious, clean and comfortable. A good size bathroom and a very comfortable bed made for a happy stay. I did love the little extras. Free bottled water was fantastic. Also they had some little sleep sprays which is a nice touch. For room service I had the salmon which was delivered fast and yummy. Staff were...

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
