Nice place to stay a very near to Covent Garden and the Savoy Theatre which we visited. Restaurants are Italian an Chines but don't open until 6pm so we did not get chance to visit them before the theatre. We got free wifi and use of a free smart phone with unlimited data for the duration of your stay. Overall...

All the staff were very welcoming and friendly. As soon as we arrived I was offered for my suitcase to be carried for me and taken to my room. We were given a free upgrade to a deluxe room as we were IGH Rewards Members, so I would recommend signing up for that. The hotel itself is kept very tidy...

This hotel is pleasant to stay in and quite good for the price paid. The staff were accommodating when I had an issue with the slow service at breakfast. Rooms were clean and the lifts worked. No issue at check in or at check out. Good stay.

Stayed in this hotel with my husband and our baby. There was some renovation going on, so it was little hard to get to the hotel. The room was OK, normal size, clean. Breakfast were good, a lot of choices. There is Italian and Chinese restaurant. I was a little disappointed that there is no spa in the hotel. Some...

Really nice hotel in great location. Room was spacious and modern. Only reason I give it 4 and not 5 stars is because the shower was really weak in terms of power and like warm. Maybe I got a bad one.

We stayed for one night. Room clean, beds comfortable. Service in bar was good. Breakfast was varied and generally decent quality, if a little cold. Reception staff excellent. My wife had left some tickets at home, and they helped her when she emailed the online confirmation to them and they reprinted the tickets. Also, when checking out, they volunteered to...

Excellent location across the road from the Blackfriars underground station. Hotel well maintained and rooms in good order. No outside road noise that I noticed. 2 restaurants in hotel if you want to use them. Good breakfast spread to suit most people. Has a fitness room but I did not use it. Will use hotel again when in London

Just back and wanted to say what a great hotel this is. We stayed for one night to watch the lion king but the location is so central we took advantage of the IHG late checkout and spent by the day sight seeing today. The location is simply superb and directly opposite Blackfriars underground. Hotels like this are rarely family...

I have deemed this my favourite hotel that I've stayed in London, since making regular visits over the last 10+ years. Room was spotless and very spacious with a comfortable bed and all the amenities you would expect. Even the shower was easy to work (how often do you get that in a UK hotel??!!) Location is spot on, with...

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
