Great location, short walk to Nottinghill tube. Plenty of restaurants and cafes close by. Continental breakfast was basic but enough. Didn't eat or drink at the pub so don't know what the meals were like. Staff were all helpful. Room was incredibly small and bathroom was even smaller but it was all clean.

Great Pub in the heart of Notting Hill, made us feel very comfortable. Loved the live sport in the front bar, lots of friendly locals! Restaurant always busy, great menu. I look forward to staying upstairs next time I'm in London. Thanks for your hospitality Alex!

We went on Saturday lunchtime when the market is in full flow. We ducked in here for a rest and some lunch. Firstly they had a great selection of beers including Harvey's and nice selection of wines too. The manager was very friendly and attentive and the menu arrived. It boasts to to be the first ever Gastro pub and...

I booked the best room in the hotel which was a superb retreat from the hustle of Portobello. The room was funky (good so), bed was marginal, it had a feel of 100 years ago, I liked it. The rest of the hotel was ok but I wouldnt call it clean nor would I call the service great, it was...

A return visit to the PG after a brilliant stay earlier in the year...this time for 5 days...we went with the bunk room as the room we had last time was full...we didn't expect to be spending much time in the room so we weren't fussed about the space which in reality was very small...As previously if you're looking for...

Starting with a positive you Couldn't fault the hotel location at all, facing Portobello Market. Upon check in, no one was around initially to help and when a staff member was located they could not find the key to our room. The Hotel would greatly benefit from a bit of TLC. We stayed in room 1, the bathroom was filthy,...

I researched the Portobello Gold well, looking at their website, reviews etc and was fairly confident that I had chosen the perfect place. We were happy to stay in a very small room as we assumed it would be small and quirky, not small and shabby (and not in the chic way)! The old wooden toilet seat had a large...

Staying in Notting Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighbourhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.
