Travelodge London Central Kings Cross is often celebrated for its welcoming atmosphere and the helpfulness of its staff, which contribute to its overall comfort despite some remarks about dated decor. While its proximity to trains is convenient for exploring London, it can lead to noisy rooms, a point of contention among guests. The hotel's value is acknowledged by many for its balance of cost and convenience, though opinions on amenities vary. Service quality and cleanliness generally receive positive notes, but some guests have encountered housekeeping oversights.

First time stay at Travelodge Central Kings Cross and very pleased with initial external look of hotel and then a very personable reception by Samirah who was extremely polite, welcoming and professional from the start, who answered all our queries about directions to local sites and easy routes to places we were visiting during our stay.

The hotel room was extremely clean, very warm and well presented, with all facilities working (coffee pod machine, kettle, TV, hairdryer) without fuss or damage of any kind.

As to be expected for a London location, noise at night was discernible with the underground railway adjacent to the hotel, but not unduly disturbing and the bed firm but comfortable.

Overall, a great choice of location for our early trip to Belgium the next morning, being within easy walk of St Pancras international railway station, clean, well presented and with very welcoming staff.

No hesitation in recommending a stay at this lovely hotel.

Location is fantastic, close to railway stations, bus stops, walkable to landmarks and nearby businesses. The property is beautiful, and the staff are very friendly and helpful - Rana and Almaz to be mentioned. The rooms are comfortable, and the bathrooms are basic. Cleanliness is okay but could be done more thoroughly. The cold breakfast menu due to the lack of a kitchen onsite is alright. One misses the hot breakfast other Travelodge hotels offer, though. All in all, we consider good value for money staying at Travelodge hotels for their convenient location, basic and clean accommodation, availability of family rooms and affordable rates (in comparison to similar hotel chains).

My husband and I recently visited London as we were attending a concert at the 02,we booked travelodge central for the 1st night and a hotel in canary wharf for the 2nd.The travelodge is ideally situated just a couple of minutes walk from kings Cross Station, we were not expecting very much for the price we paid, how pleasantly surprised we were, it is nipping clean, the room was spacious with a very comfortable bed and the staff very friendly, they even opened the bar for us to have a drink! Had we known how nice this hotel was we would have stayed both nights and travelled by underground to the 02 arena (which took about 20 mins) instead of paying double the price for a hotel in canary wharf which was dated and not a patch on the travelodge at kings Cross, would not hesitate to stay here again. Date of stay Sunday January 21st.

Overall acceptable stay at an affordable cost if compared with much more expensive alternatives in central London. There is another Travelodge located in the same area so make sure you get to the correct one near King's Cross (this one is called Central). We were disappointed by a few issues:
1) free wifi lasts only 30' / day
2) they don't clean the room unless you ask for it by hanging the right sign mark on the door handle (we did it) and you are lucky (they didn't clean). Unless your stay is longer than one week in which case they will clean your room after seven days.
3) no closet in the room; with a luggage laying open on the floor you can hardly maneuver.
4) the public restroom located at floor -1 has one of the most badly designed sinks ever seen, so tiny and with very little space for washing your hands left by the soap dispenser and the taps.

The best of the hotel is undoubtedly the location. 200 metres from the train and metro stations.
The staff is friendly and helpful.

The breakfast is very weak.
There is no good cheese or fiambre, the croissants run out and were not reposted for 2 days, there are only 2 small coffee machines (like the home ones) for the whole hotel, there is also no fruit...
With a lot of people it becomes an authentic confusion to take breakfast.
Where is English breakfast?
There is no daily room cleaning. Whoever wants to change towel, has to go to the reception, as well as to replace toilet paper.
Wi-Fi is free for 30-minute packages.... Which in 2024 makes no sense!
There is noise from trains, due to the proximity of the stations, and that is well heard in the rooms. They could better soundproof the rooms.
For tourism, where you only go to the hotel to sleep, it serves for a family to spend 2/3 nights, but it's nothing more than that. A budget hotel, well located but with somewhat poor conditions.

The location of the hotel is fab but that is where the positives end. To start off with the hotel has no air conditioning (apart from a hired machine in reception) and we just happened to be staying on the hottest day of the year so far. They do provide you with a fan but it is far too small and very noisy and all it really does is circulate the hot air. The room we were in overlooked the tube line from King’s Cross/ St Pancras behind the hotel. The trains run every 3 minutes at least so there was constant noise from around 5am till 1am the following morning. There is also a bar behind so light and music from that enters your room until the early hours as well. The noise was still very loud even with the windows shut and glass slider across and having the windows shut meant we literally boiled alive. We didn’t see many staff around but when we did they were constantly talking on the phone and ignoring the guests there was no customer service at all which you would expect given how much it costs to stay here. On the final day we booked a late checkout so we could do some more sightseeing before our train home, upon arriving back to our room we had to get reception to reactivate our key card as it wouldn’t let us in (which they did, whilst talking on the phone), we then entered our floor to find cleaning trolleys and laundry bins blocking the corridor. As we were travelling with a relative in a wheelchair it was impossible to get past without walking him all the way down the corridor. There were no staff around so presumably at this point the cleaners were all inside their rooms but no thought was given to guests who might be staying there. After collecting our luggage the corridor was still blocked but luckily this time a cleaner appeared and moved it into a room out of the way. We booked this hotel because of the location and price. However I would recommend anybody looking for somewhere to stay to spend the extra £100 or so and stay somewhere else because it really is not worth the price you pay!

Saki & Faysal( Foysal) are excellent employees of the travel lodge at Kings Cross

this Travelodge is located next to the Saint Chad’s place. I was very impressed by the personal attention to detail that these two employees gave to me and to my family this travel lodge is located at a very convenient place very close to the Kings Cross station and from their access to other near nearby tube stations is very convenient. You can get buses Ubers and local restaurants offer avoid variety of culinary tastes.

As a location this hotel cannot be beaten - it is almost a literal hop skip and jump away from Kings Cross. However, that really is where the positives end. Staff are unhelpful and unbothered about things, the hotel while marketed as 'recently refurbished' is in poor state of repair. Soap dispensers hanging off the wall, plaster and mess on the floors throughout the hotel (including rooms which means it was clearly not cleaned before we arrived).

The person in the room next to us was loud and aggressive and often spent HOURS shouting and yelling on a night. Staff were very blase about this and it felt like you were troubling them by asking for help.

The hotel is also VERY VERY noisy - at one side overlooking the tracks into Kings X and the other a very busy main road and not all rooms have double glazing which doesn't help.

We left the 'please change towels' out on a few occasions and it was never done - even asking staff at reception for help was a chore.

The culture and management of this pool seems really poor which is such a shame as usually Travelodge's are great!

The hotel is ok value for money for a central location, but if you can afford to spend a little more elsewhere I would. The hotel rooms are mainly track facing which is important to be aware of before you book, if you are a light sleeper the trains will keep you awake. The staff did originally offer me an alternative room in the basement, however this felt damp, musty, the window could not be opened and it was at the bottom of a smelly corridor. I took the trackside room instead. The room was clean on arrival but housekeeping did not visit during my stay. They are also are very dated with no air conditioning so it does get very stuffy. A fan was provided but was very old and just about drowned out the sound of the trains! There was no bathmat in the room and when I asked I was told the hotel didn’t have them and I’d just need to use a hand towel… I also had to get key cards reset a couple of times to get back in the room, being told this was because I had it next to my credit card may have washed 15-20 years ago but I do think the world has moved on. I must say that the staff were incredibly polite and helpful wherever they could be, but overall the hotel experience isn’t the best. You get what you pay for but in future I probably would have spent a little extra on somewhere else.
