We paid for late checkout. We got woken up at 10 to say we had to check out immediately. I tried to explain to the member of staff that we had paid for late checkout but he didn't speak English. I had to go down to the front desk myself to speak to someone. At that point the whole idea... More

I had stayed in a 6 bed dorm. The room was nice and clean. The bathrooms were clean. The location is good. Near the tube and bus stops. The best part about the place is the staff. Very friendly and it has a very big common area and pantry. Total value for money

Very decent hostel especially for this price in London; the location is great and the fact that you get discount in pub is making everything even better! The breakfast was very nice as well. On weekends it might get quite noisy at night, though I didn't mind (yet, some of you might need earplugs) Next time I need a place... More

Before I start, if you enjoying partying this is your hotel. Since I am not, I didn't enjoy it. I took my friend on a short and as cheap as you can get it in London trip. I was paying for her accommodation so I booked this place for its great location (which was great) and its low price. I've... More

After loosing all my friends, my phone battery dying and getting lost I found myself here. Sure they didn't have a bed for me but Grace and Reece still amazingly helped me out, let me charge my phone, get a plan together and even have a quick night cap before the bar shut. Cheers you two, you reminded me why... More

the hostel has a nice bar thats on two floors but the prices are very high and the hostel itself has only one small common area and not many places where you can sit down and relax or even charge your phone, the room is ok but again nothing special, lots of people are in and out during the night... I landed in London not sure of my plans. I googled hostels near the center as well as the Tube, and fortunately, st. Christopher popped up. I paid slightly less than 15 GBP and stayed for one night. The staff at the front desk were extremely helpful and friendly. Rooms were fine though needed a bit of airing. The bar... More

It was pretty good experience, I just walked to the wrong one first which was a bit annoying carrying all my things as well. The staff were really nice but I booked through booking.com which was a bit of a hassle for them because of the amount of emails. There was handy crates under the bunk beds for you to... More

The rooms are clean, so is the bathroom, at least in the girls section I was in. The boys side was a bit more smelly.... very good lication. A lot of restaurants around fitting every budget. Very close and easy access to most must see atractions. Breakfest was ok, but took advantage of the close proximity to the burough market... More

The bed has AC power plug, 2x USB and light plus a cage under the bed to store your valuables. Roommates were considerate at all times, turning the lights off around 11PM, trying not to make too much noise, etc... The common area is quite big and very clean. The bars are great with cheap pints but very crowded during... More

Staying in Southwark

Neighbourhood Profile
Southwark
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighbourhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
