Very welcoming, attentive staff and adapts to our level of English. Room very comfortable and clean. We enjoyed everything is included in the room price. Full English breakfast plentiful and very good. Very good hotel that we recommend.

Small but attractive room, comfortable and clean. Surprisingly good food in the pub; not traditional pub food but modern gourmet. Location was good for my needs but would not be appropriate for all tourists.

Great location, great size rooms for London we were upgraded to a room with a terrace- so worth it! Will definitely book this room choice when we return! There were breakfast choices rather than just buffet which was a bonus- would definitely recommend

Dear tonir93, how brilliant to hear that you enjoyed the upgraded roof terrace so much that you would deliberately book this room type again should you return. I agree with you on the breakfast, a cooked to order breakfast beats a buffet hands down. Thanks for your recommendation. Kindest regards Chris Kerr General Manager

I booked this as we had a wedding nearby and the couple had secured a discount for guests. I was a little worried given it is part of a pub and a picture of the outside didn't look too flash. However was really pleasantly surprised! Our room was beautiful; proper boutique style. We were upgraded because the lift wasn't working...

We loved this hotel. The staff was so friendly and helpful. The location was terrific for visiting all of London. There were plenty of restaurants and pubs nearby. St. Catherine docks had a festive atmosphere not to be missed.

Great quality rooms; size, cleanliness, well decorated, very comfortable bed! Loved the location, so easy to catch trains and buses. Lots of food and drink options and close to walk to Spitalfields (markets/food/drink/shopping). Would stay again! We had a minor irritation with an air con that made a sporadic but repetitive noise- would affect a light sleeper. When turned off...

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
