We chose this accommodation as it is near our family, is dog-friendly and because it had good reviews. We were aware when we booked that the bathroom is shared between rooms. The bathroom is large and there was plenty of hot water. On the positive side the bed room was a decent size and the bed was very comfortable with...

Annette was a great host and very welcoming to our 2 Dandie Dinmont Terriers that were staying with us. Plenty of parks nearby to walk the dogs and there was also an enclosed back garden available too. Really handy location for getting around too plus there was also plenty of parking available outside when we visited. Lots of cool places...

Thanks for taking the time to review! We are pleased you enjoyed your stay and always do our best to welcome canine friends. There are lots of great places for walks nearby and Hackney is full of dog friendly cafes and pubs, which is handy! Hope to see you again.

5 of us came from Stockholm on a combined work/leisure trip, and since we knew the area a bit this seemed like a good place to stay. The whole of Chatsworth Rd is super quaint and interesting with cafés and nice places to eat as well proximity to the 242 bus to Liverpool street station (stops just round the corner)...

We spent 3 nights at this B&B. The room was very comfortable, the space was well edited, great books in the common space and scrabble! Wifi worked without a problem. We requested and got to meet the B&B's 2 whippets. Annette was lovely, and even came to pick us up from the train station. The location is fantastic- lots of...

Thank you for the feedback, we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay and all the nice things to do in the area. Good to see the Scrabble board getting some action too! Hope you are enjoying some time with your own whippet :)

We liked our stay here very much. Really comfortable bed and bed linen and deliciously lovely breakfast eaten in the stylish dining room with interesting company. Great to be able to come and go without fuss. Clapton is a great up and coming area and being just across the road from the park and Hackney Marsh and the River Lea...

Thanks so much for the review, it's great that you enjoyed the nearby green spaces and river, the countryside is on the doorstep as well as the bustling city. Also really pleased you liked the company at breakfast and the relaxed feel. Hope to see you again!

We had a very nice time at this B&B, and felt very much like at home. Annette was very nice and charming. The B&B has a very unique style which we loved. You can see and feel that Annette put a lot of thoughts and heart into it. We were there in April 2012.

Other posters have said it all really; welcoming, comfortable, stylish, convenient, and excellent breakfasts. We will certainly be back. I was surprised and pleased to find that street parking seems to be readily available (although we didn't need it this time).

Literally. If you need a B&B in the Chatsworth Road area, for whatever reason, there is literally nowhere else to stay. Russells is pioneering the middle-class hospitality market in this part of Hackney and it shows. My longish experience of budget big city stopovers around the world has led to the conclusion that only a few B&Bs get as many...

Thank you for the feedback. You are right, there is nowhere else to stay around Chatsworth Rd, but there is the Ship Inn nearby in Hackney, and the Avo Hotel in Dalston. Glad you appreciated the efforts with comfort and freedom here, and sorry if you did not feel welcomed enough. I do not agree that guests are 'tolerated' here...

This is our third time with Annette and is unlikely to be our last. We agree with all the positives others have expressed and add that once you get past the pleasantly pink exterior distinguishing Annette's from its neighbours, the whole experience is relaxed and without affectation. You never know who you might meet at breakfast but Reggae and Dora...

Thanks for the feedback, it's great that you have been to stay a few times and have enjoyed it. One of the best things about running a b&b is seeing familiar faces return. Dora might even have calmed down completely by your next visit ;)

We have stayed at Russell's twice now and have found it delightful. The Rooms are unfussy and the " Beds are a Dream" and very, very comfortable indeed. The bed linen is crisp, fresh and white along with the walls. The whole atmosphere is one of lightness, brightness and cheerfulness. The whole place is classy from beginning to end and...
