Despite being in a great area of Marylebone with lovely shops, restaurants and coffee shops I was very disappointed with my stay here. I did not have high expectations booking a single room on a tight work budget. The staff were certainly friendly but the rooms and environment need an overhaul. The room was noisy due to ineffective double glazing...

This actually was a pleasant surprise for just over £100 a night in London. Room (205) was actually quite big by London standards and quite well equipped. Very quiet at night and with decent curtains. Good sized bathroom with shower over bath and free wifi worked okay for light browsing and email. Room was clean and staff courteous and helpful....

I have had the pleasure of staying here quite frequently over the past few months. The staff from the owner, to the reception staff to the waiters at breakfast are friendly and very helpful. The rooms are clean, the beds are big and comfortable. Breakfast has great selection. The location is one of the best, close to baker street tube....

I chose this hotel because I needed to be close to a meeting place I was attending the next day, so this was my primary motivation. Also I needed somewhere that didn't want in excess of £250 for a room. Hotel La Place is conveniently located (for me) in an area which is a bit low on the accommodation provision...

I think I can say this is possibly the worst hotel I have stayed in, in a ny county. Booked for me by my work at short notice if I hadn't arrived late and would be leaving early I would have walked out. Hopefully my 2 stars mean I wont have to elaborate too much but a room ith dirty...

This is a lovely welcoming little place! Such character. Sometimes I get fed up with the starkness of Premier Inn type accommodation. I felt this hotel was unique, sure it could do with a little updating, for example the radiator could be changed in room 205 and the bulbs above the mirror. However, these are the only suggestions I could...

This hotel does look very tired The staff are lovely but I think it's time to give it a makeover It's very comfortable and our room was spacious but just so old fashioned I just think it should be updated The lift is tiny so used the stairs as they were easier For this hotel there is a big difference...

Hotel La Place is not new, my room (single) was small and the bed oddly located (I don't know how the maids manage to make it up), but it was very clean and quiet. The staff is very helpful and friendly, ready to handle any request 24 hours a day if necessary. Breakfast (full English) is included with the price,...

Very small hotel, picked it as there was an awesome deal going for it with Kaligo. Check-in was odd as they wouldn't budge on showing passport for identification which as a UK resident I've never before seen in a London hotel. Public spaces were very narrow and could use a refurbishment. Lift was scary the first time but it got...

This is a small town house hotel that is very good value for the money. Don't compare this with a big expensive branded hotel - it's not that. The staff are all very friendly and it has all of the facilities you need for a comfortable stay. Good location with excellent travel connections and local restaurants.

Staying in Marylebone

Neighbourhood Profile
Marylebone offers what so many London neighbourhoods cannot: a village feel coupled with urban convenience. Much of its success rests in its location. Wedged between the northeastern corner of Hyde Park and the southern end of Regent's Park and with a number of Tube stations within easy reach, Marylebone is as pedestrian friendly as Central London gets. The bustling shopping mecca of Oxford Street separates it from Soho and Mayfair, exclusive Regent Street marks its border with Fitzrovia, and cosmopolitan Edgware Road serves as its western edge. Within this enviably situated quarter are an array of outstanding restaurants (from Michelin darlings to down and dirty cheeseburgers), an impressive assortment of independently owned shops, and some of the city's quietest and most pleasant nooks, crannies and cobbled lanes.
