I just stayed at the Kandara for the second time,it's very well run and the breakfast is terrific, you are left to get on with your stay in peace but you can always get in touch with staff if you need to,I always look for the Kandara first when booking in Islington, highly recommend it.

Very nice to welcome you back to Kandara for your second stay. It is always a pleasure to welcome guests back. Thank you for your kind review. We have been running our b&b for so many years that over 50% of our guests have stayed before. Some even change their holiday dates to coincide with our availability.

I always stay here when I attend hospital appointments at homerton hospital. Central location and fab breakfast rooms are spotless and such a warm welcome. Easy access to central London and beyond. Angel tube 6mins away. Upper Street Islington lots of choice shopping restaurants and lovely antique markets.

Thank you for your review. It is always lovely to welcome back guests who have stayed before. We look forward to meeting you again on your next visit to London. We often use the Angel tube station which is on the Northern Line. It is about 10 minutes away using one of the 5 bus routes on Essex Road. Our...

I've stayed here twice for several days each time. It's on a quiet street, the owners are really friendly and the breakfast is excellent - quality produce, lots of choice. I felt very safe here on my own and it's in a great area with good transport links.

As a group of young women travelling to London we could not have felt more welcome or safe. The family is so lovely and cannot do enough for you. On arrival the man gave us lots of advice about travel, and the local area making us feel safe and at home. The breakfast and staff, again lovely. The room had...

Thank you for your kind review. We are lucky that the area is safe to walk at all times of day and night. However, as in any city, it is always best to be careful of your mobile phone and handbag / wallet - especially in crowds.

We were initially put off by the institutional feel of the hotel but the family who run the place were so kind and patient with our questions and put us so much at ease that we ended up having a really wonderful stay..

With 11 rooms we are larger than small b&bs (often just a couple of rooms in someones home). As a result we have to provide all the safety and security aspects such as fire alarms and fire doors etc. I understand your comment about an "institutional feel" but it does mean safer accomodation for guests. However, we are family run...

We had never stayed at a place like this, but we are glad we did. It is very clean, nice people, and easy to get anywhere you want to go. The breakfast was delicious. The neighborhood is safe and quiet. There is a bus stop two minutes from the house, and double decker busses were literally one minute apart. Book...

Thank you for your really lovely review. We are very pleased you tried us and enjoyed your stay. Canonbury station is just a 7 minute walk and the buses are amazing. At our nearest bus stop - on Essex Road - we have 5 bus routes and as you say with an average of a bus a minute! Most people...

We appreciate your kind review. Islington is indeed ideally situated for exploring central London. We are 2.5 miles from the City of London (London Bridge) and under 3 miles from the West End (British Museum and Oxford Street). A car is more of a hinderance than a help. Public transport in London is the best way to travel around the...

Absolutely loved it! Hosts were very welcoming, met us at the door, took out a map and wrote out all the places that they thought were the most helpful. Breakfast was excellent and the room super comfy! Plenty of bathrooms that were always clean. The house is in a great area next to some grocery stores, some nice pubs and...

Thank you for your lovely review. As you say, public transport is very accessible. We have 11 bus routes close by. The closest station is Canonbury (London Overground Line). We are lucky to have some really nice places to eat and drink very close to Kandara. A little further - around the Angel Station (Upper Street, Islington) there are literally...
