After a little confusion the receptionist found our confirmation of booking. The standard double room, which was a the second floor at the rear of the hotel, was clean and more than adequate. The bed was comfortable and en-suite clean with a powerful shower. Cannot comment on the breakfast as we skipped this. Chose this hotel as close to the...

The hotel has a great location and very polite staff. All the people there were helpful and smiling. There is free Wifi in the whole building, compliment coffee and water. It is clean and rooms are comfortable with nice windows and enough space.. compared to other hotels in the same area. I would visit this hotel again, it was a...

Just spent 4 nights at the hotel which is in easy walking distance of both Gloucester Rd and South Kensington tube stations. It is in a lovely area only a 10 minute walk to Kensington gardens and palace. The staff are very helpful we had to ask them several things as there is no book in the room giving details...

I travel for work a great deal. I like to stay in the smaller boutique hotels. This one one is ok. The rooms are very small. No real desk to work. Only a small ottoman and one foot wide board. Hard to get around the bed. But it is clean and quiet. And I noticed the price is low for...

The location was perfect for us, it is an easy walking distance to the major sites. The staff were friendly and helpful. The bar was nice and welcoming after a long day sightseeing. At the time of our visit the only breakfast offered was a continental breakfast but Hyde Park is a short walk with cafes there open early.

This boutique hotel is located across the road from the Natural History Museum in a 4 story terrace house. The accommodation is perfectly adequate with clean rooms, with good linen and towels and friendly staff. The public areas are limited but there are plenty of places to eat and drink nearby. There is a lift to the 2nd floor and...

Our room overlooked the natural history museum! Overall a very pleasant stay and the location made up for any small inconveniences. The hotel could use a bit of care and updating, but nothing was broken if really bad. Adding some kind of lock to the big windows on the first floor, or installing a bigger safe that takes maybe an...

I was looking for a hotel near Gloucester Road tube that was within my company's expenses allowance and came across 54 Boutique. It is a small but very comfortable and friendly hotel. I was met with a warm welcome and informed I was being upgraded to a superior double. This room overlooked the lovely Natural History Museum so you can...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
