I travel for work a great deal. I like to stay in the smaller boutique hotels. This one one is ok. The rooms are very small. No real desk to work. Only a small ottoman and one foot wide board. Hard to get around the bed. But it is clean and quiet. And I noticed the price is low for...

The location was perfect for us, it is an easy walking distance to the major sites. The staff were friendly and helpful. The bar was nice and welcoming after a long day sightseeing. At the time of our visit the only breakfast offered was a continental breakfast but Hyde Park is a short walk with cafes there open early.

This boutique hotel is located across the road from the Natural History Museum in a 4 story terrace house. The accommodation is perfectly adequate with clean rooms, with good linen and towels and friendly staff. The public areas are limited but there are plenty of places to eat and drink nearby. There is a lift to the 2nd floor and...

Our room overlooked the natural history museum! Overall a very pleasant stay and the location made up for any small inconveniences. The hotel could use a bit of care and updating, but nothing was broken if really bad. Adding some kind of lock to the big windows on the first floor, or installing a bigger safe that takes maybe an...

I was looking for a hotel near Gloucester Road tube that was within my company's expenses allowance and came across 54 Boutique. It is a small but very comfortable and friendly hotel. I was met with a warm welcome and informed I was being upgraded to a superior double. This room overlooked the lovely Natural History Museum so you can...

We stayed in room 22. You can take a lift to the second floor but then you have to walk up another flight of stairs so make sure you request a different room if you have limited mobility. Lovely view of the Natural History Museum, short walk from South Kensington station. The hotel is on a relatively quiet road and...

Room clean, but from the moment I am at the front door I find the hotel terribly depressing. It's uninviting, unfriendly, bland, soulless. I take the lift up 2 floors, then have to walk up another two through a rabbit warren to get to what is a clean room, but it all feels like out of a bad movie. I...

I cannot recommend this boutique hotel enough. Wonderful location in a very cool building. The staff went above and beyond to make our week stay in London lovely. The room was spacious and clean. We will definitely be back! Thank you for the wonderful hospitality! :)

The hotel comprises an entrance a small dining room and guest bedrooms. The location was good being 5 minutes walk from Gloucester Road Underground. It wouldn't suite guests with disabilities as there are steps to enter the hotel and (depending on your room location) flights of stairs to manage. We were on the third floor, the lift served the first...

Nice to have a smart clean room in London that has a door to an internal balcony that can be safely left open for fresh air. The staff we met were charming and helpful. Although there isn't a kitchen, the breakfast was more than adequate with very good coffee.

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
