Went for this on price, comfortable, good and friendly staff - comfortable rooms and "members" lounge to boot Plentiful free cooled water, empty bottles above dispensers, great idea! Location is almost too perfect right next to St Pauls, the millennium bridge at at the head of Ludgate Hill for easy access to the West End and Theatre Land enjoyed it...

My room was decent sized with a normal sized bathroom. I particularly liked the desk with plenty of room to work and eat at. I was given an upgraded room with a microwave and refrigerator which made all the difference because I don't like going to restaurants alone - I could just pop over to the Marks & Spencer and...

We stayed one night here to visit The Globe Theatre. It was very convienient as once across the road it was a traffic free stroll to the theatre. Our room was called small which it was but I have since stayed in a so called 5 star and the room was no bigger. It had been thoughtfully planned although a shelf on the...

3 friends in London, and we chose the Club quarters. We got a good deal on a suite (about 120GBP pr person for two nights). When we came to check in, we were greeted by a service minded employee, who told us our room was not yet ready. But she was happy to store our luggage, while we got a...

We booked this as a last minute deal and got a reasonble price bearing in mind the fantastic location in central London. You quite literally stumble out of the hotel and onto the front steps of St Paul's ... fantastic. Greeted by friendly staff we were very quickly booked in to Room 340. There is a lounge/internet cafe area to...

First time in London so can't compare it to other hotels in area. Been to many large metropolitan cities before so understand that rooms are smaller this to me wasn't the issue, though the room did feel extra small when I first walked in. The self-service concept of picking up towels, toiletries, ironing board and iron is what began to...

We booked this hotel last minute and got a very good price for central London. It is very clean and good value but my impression of our room was 'a cabin on a ship'. There was only a glimpse of light coming into room 230. The bed was a double not a king and it was sooooo hot - the...

Upon arrival i was greeted with a well thought out and refreshing welcome basket. Soft drinks free coffee and chilled pure water were available at all times. The rooms were always very clean and odorless with a cosy setting but yet they still contained all the modern equipment i needed including a bluetooth media hub. The staff were very friendly...

The hotel is very clean, very nice staff, and the complimentary water bottles, coffee and tea were a very nice touch. As an avid workout person, the gym was a bit too small for the amount of equipment that was in it (however it was clean). The rooms were a bit tight, but the bed, the quiet floor and my...

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
