I chose this hotel as it was closest to tower 42 my partner was running up the tower rasing money for shelter and we stayed here for a couple of nights. All the staff were excellent, friendly and helpful and it's a great place to explore the city. It's tucked away in a small court yard right next to a...

Starting on the good stay here when working In the city as super location 5 minute walk to work and reasonably priced. Know what to expect with travelogue but this time really disappointed. Yes I could have asked for a room change but as I arrived late just put up with it. Firstly I was put in a disability room...

I chose this hotel for its location. I was able to walk to an early morning meeting near Moorgate and avoid the tube in rush hour. It is a short walk from Cannon Street station and there are numerous cafes and restaurants nearby. The reception staff were friendly and welcoming but the hotel itself is very basic even though you...

I chose this for price (£99 recently) and location - 5 minutes from the offices about Canning Street Station. Staff very helpful. Rooms clean and fresh - perfectly functional. Plenty of pubs and eating places nearby. I like to have breakfast in local place next door - "At the Sign of the Don". Wifi at £3 for 24 hours worked...

Stayed in a lot of central London hotels and this wasn't good. Firstly expensive but appreciate u pay for it being a central location. Secondly impersonal service. Thirdly tiny room and facilities Not to get too graphic but you have to lean to one side whilst sitting on toilet because of the sink....

Stayed at travelodge with my partner on the weekend, it was noisy throughout the night due to guests literally sounded like someone had come into our room. To then get woken up first thing on a Sunday morning by construction noise. I then contacted travelodge and they have not got back to me.

We had dismissed travel lodges following dreadful experiences some years back but were recommended this one by a friend because it was so near to where we were going. It really was a great experience compared to our expectations. The bed really is much more comfortable. The bedrooms are new or refurbished and clean. The amazing and welcoming success for...

Perfect for a short trip, cheap, good located, friendly staff. The hotel is located near cannon station (2 min), from where you reached every destination in short time, with supermarket, some bars and restaurants directly in front of the door.

I'm not a fan of Travelodge as a rule, but I shall make an exception in this instance. From the moment we arrived we had a warm and friendly welcome. The young lady on reception was careful to explain everything to us. The room was a standard Travelodge room - relatively spartan, but clean. The bed was extremely comfortable. As...

Got the hotel at a good price, great location, clean, quiet and comfortable, with friendly and helpful staff. 1 minute walk from the tube and if need be some great bars located near by. Would stay here again.

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
