Great location. Central Tube Line was closed, which was a pain, but obviously not the hotel's fault. Still very accessible. Good location for the South Bank. Bit hidden away, but not necessarily a bad thing!

The room was smaller than expected (I wasn't aware I had booked a single) and not worth the huge amount of money I paid. There was no restaurant for breakfast but many places to go on the doorstep. Difficult to keep water in shower, could do with a shower door instead of flimsy curtain but the rooms are obviously decorated...

Stayed one night with my son, the rooms are very basic but nice and clean which is what matters. The beds lovely and comfy, had a good nights sleep. I need to give a mention to the staff on reception the two ladies on Friday night who helped us order pizza as we were starving - thankyou, very polite and...

Staff very pleasant. Room exactly as expected. Our second stay here. No complaints whatsoever. Staff explained that with was being done outside which started around 8am but we were already aware of this from the website and it didn't trouble us at all.

Quite hard to find this hotel, once found everything was OK. Noisy if you stay when the rubbish collection is going on in St Swithin's Lane. Be aware there is no restaurant or bar in this hotel. Location is good for visiting the area around Bank tube station.

We had a one night stay 21st may. We thought the location was perfect for us but what really made it was the very helpful staff who went over the top to make our stay so enjoyable. Thank you ladies. The building work was not a problem for us as we did not hear a thing.

Hotel was in great location, it was very secure, it had limited but adequate facilities, staff were very helpful and great value for one night. Although thee was building work next door, we were warned and it wasn't very intrusive.

Surprised my Wife with an overnight stay in London. This Travelodge is bang in the financial district and on a Sunday night everything seemed closed, even the nearest Wetherspoons in Cannon Street Railway Station. No problem just jumped on a Bus to Tottenham Court Road and life in the City is back again. Travelodge it's self was as expected but...

Stayed for one night, booked by work. Never again. When I & colleagues checked in, we were asked whether we knew about the construction work. We did not (which was not the fault of the hotel). We were advised that the work started at 8am (we expected to have left by then anyway). We were told that there was scaffolding...

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
