First of all let me get this bug bear off of my chest, whilst it is happening. It is now 11:19 at night, I have a conference call with colleagues in another country at 4:30 am and really need to get to sleep. Since 9PM it has felt like I am sleeping above a nightclub in full swing on a...

We have stayed here a few times now with the last stay April 2017. We find this hotel to be one of the best places to stay in London and here is why, The location is great, either take a nice walk through the streets of the city or with Tower Hill underground, Fenchurch Street Station, Tower Gateway DLR and...

We were recommended to the Grange City by our son, and we were not disappointed. Check-in staff were very friendly and welcoming, and we were allocated an executive room which was very spacious with a king-size bed (which we found very comfortable), plenty of wardrobe space and drawers, and a nice sitting area with two comfy sofas. There was tea/coffee-making...

I stayed last month for one night on my way to the Excel Centre over in East London. I was up on the 6th floor (can't remember the room number) and had a view of Tower Bridge, so worth asking for. The Hotel was very close to the Tower Park Tube, and equally the DLR in the morning. Good greeting...

The following Review is based on room #620. Although we arrived early we managed to get an early check in which is always a bonus. Our first impression of the room was very good with a spacious room and a proper King Sized Bed but then we opened the toilet door only to find a tiny space in which they...

We booked this hotel due to it's location and it was ideal. Continental breakfast was included but there was not much variety of bread for toast etc. There was a sign on the toaster to say please don't toast anything other than the sliced bread which was pretty awful. Not a great deal of choice of fruit either mainly melon...

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
