We stayed at the Thanet in two stints while visiting London for the olympics. Very convenient location! Close the tube and national rail services. Good value hotel. Nice full breakfast. We stayed in triple rooms and found the barrooms to be clean and ample.

We have been staying here every time we visit London over the last 13 years. Probably at least 7 times and we will be back. The owners are extreme helpful and accommodating and have a very professional staff managing the place when they aren't there. The location is ideal in that the British Museum is only a short walk away...

The hotel is in a back street row of Georgian terrace houses, much of which has been converted to hotels. The building was built in the 18th century so has lots of history to it. The price and location are hard to beat, but it’s a pretty basic lodgings, so don’t expect a 5 star hotel. They serve a quite...

This hotel is - by London standards - good value for money. The room was clean and tidy, lovely crisp white sheets, and a gleaming, good sized bathroom. My room was on the ground/basement level but had good bars on the window and good soundproofing so it was ok. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

My wife and I just got back (June, 2012) from a 6 day stay at the Thanet hotel, room #17 down in THE BASEMENT. We had booked the Thanet more than six weeks in advance and that was where they put us despite my objections. To be fair there was a half window at street level (which we kept closed...

For price vs. location and overall value in London, the Thanet is a decent choice for budget-minded travelers. I have stayed at this hotel a number of times. On the most recent trip I had a top-floor single. For one or two nights, would be ok, but for the week I was there, was really too small and I should...

The Thanet is an excellent value and location for staying in London. The hotel is very convenient (3 blocks) to 2 tubes stops, one which has multiple lines. It made it very easy to get around to other parts of the city, and not worry about walking very far at night back to the hotel. There are shops and restaurants...
