We had a lovely stay. All members of staff were very friendly and helpful and made us feel at home. We had a delicious dinner in the dining room and lovely breakfasts in the conservatory. We particularly liked the quirky sheep motif that runs throughout the hotel and interesting wallpaper both in the lobby and the upstairs corridors.

Dear suelA6949DO, Thank you for that lovely comment, your support is noted and much appreciated. The sheep is our little mascot here and called Bar-ba-ra and she has been around for many years. Also I am so delighted you liked our hand painted wallpaper. It is unique in the world and made for The Goring only. With warmest wishes and a Merry Christmas to you, Michael

Another stay at the Goring Hotel, and probably our best yet ! Attentive and wonderful staff, full confidence in all their Covid precautions and despite everything, they have continued to make the hotel feel like home. No request is too great. We can’t wait to go back.

My husband and I have dined at The Goring several times, and chose to share the wonderful experience with our daughter. A warm welcome awaits, the staff are attentive but not intrusive. The hotel has a relaxed air of timeless elegance, but not stuffy. Nice gardens and a lovely spot for our pre-theatre lunch. Our go-to place in London. Looking forward to returning when theatreland re-opens.

The Goring will forever hold a special place in my heart. The service, staff and food were exceptional on my wedding day. The staff were so attentive, yet not intrusive, their attention to detail and making you feel so special has made it my favourite hotel in London, not to mention being upgraded to the Royal suite on my wedding night! It truly was made an even more memorable day. Thank you to everyone, I’m already planning my next visit!

How far away is good shopping?
Answer from kwagmeister
Jul 2019 |
Harrods and the boutiques near it are just about a 10 minute walk away - easy to do. A cab will get you there even faster. We got a cab to Covent Garden and walked to Regent, Bond and Oxmoor streets for more shopping, then hailed a cab back to the hotel for a celebratory drink in the lounge. A walk to that area is do able but more like 20 minutes or longer. On a nice day that walk is very pleasant as you’ll pass by Buckingham Palace on the way and up past Trafalgar Square (we’ve walked that, too!)
