No only is it not expensive it is literally 5 min walk to the underground. They offer free breakfast. Basic breakfast cereal, toast, jam, etc. But it was very good. Reception was really nice, the guy that helped me spoke spanish as well. That was a plus. But there was a girl that was so rude, I asked her if...

This is a very nice hostel, and has an amazing location. A ten minute walk to London Bridge, and close to so many cool restaurants and pubs. It definitely has a youth vibe to it, and has many young students and travelers, or singles when I stayed there. The front desk was so helpful and all had great attitudes. They...

My traveling companion and I stayed at the Oasis for three days. To clarify, the Oasis is a smaller part of the main St. Christopher's hostel that is reserved for women only. It consists of a back hallway with about 8 rooms that is protected by a door with key card access. We felt very safe there, as getting to...

To come to Oasis felt like coming to heaven, after I had spent some nights before at one of London's cheapest hostels. Oasis is a very good hostel. I stayed in a 14 bed dorm, the room is large it even has a table and chairs. When I arrived around 10 in the morning I got the key to my...

To be honest, having stayed in other St. Christopher's hostels before I wasn't expecting much. However, I was impressed by the friendly staff, spacious and clean showers and comfortable beds. The shared common area was comfy and had a fridge and microwave which was a nice plus. I would however mention that the single toilets never seemed to flush or...

Pros: fairly friendly staff, central, cheap, big lockers under beds Cons: very loud, tons of young drunk kids (massive bar downstairs), dirty bathrooms and rooms I would definitely not stay here again- but it was cheap for central London.. You get what you pay for

I traveled solo and stayed in a 4 person dorm. The hostel was quiet, my roommates stayed out most of the time, the bathroom was clean, and the area had many attractions. There is no common area in this building, but the main St. Christopher's hostel was a short walk away.

We were seven girls who rented a room with eight beds at St Christopher's Oasis. We were placed at the one closest to the London Bridge underground, and not the one where they served breakfast etc. We knew it was a bed and breakfast and did not expect a lot, but I guess we did expect some more peace and...

The only advantage of this place is its cheapness. Note that there are different places named "St Christopher's" on the same street. I booked to the "Oasis", but was put into a room in the "Village", where the check-in is as well. It was really bad, very loud all night (street noise and inside noise, people coming in and out...

Hey! Thank you for taking the time for leaving us a review. We do apologize that your stay with us was not very positive. Staying in Southwark

Neighbourhood Profile
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighbourhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Oasis in London Bridge is exactly what it sounds like - a protected retreat of tranquillity just for girls, right in the heart of London. This youth hostel shares a check in, reception and breakfast area with the St Christopher's at the Village hostel - so there's plenty of opportunities to meet fellow travellers from all walks off life and you get to make the most of the on-site nightclub, cinema, comedy club, bar and restaurant - also at the Village. Add to that the fact that Borough Market and the Tower of London are on your doorstep from this location, and you're guaranteed to have a good time. When you've finished tasting the many free food samples at the belly bulging Borough Market, an amazing walking route along the River Thames is only minutes away. After you pass The London Dungeons and Sir Francis Drake's ship - the Golden Hinde, this path heads west to take in St Paul's Cathedral, the amazing and free Tate Modern Gallery, the OXO Tower, Gabriel's Wharf, the British Film Institute, the Southbank Centre, the London Eye, and the Houses of Parliament! Needless to say, you won't be at a loss for something fun to do! This London Bridge location is also a short train ride away from Greenwich with its famous observatory where time is set, the Maritime Museum, the 02 Arena and the Cutty Sark tea clipper! ... more   less
